The Public Library's Summer Reading Program, Adventure Begins At Your Library, is almost here! We're welcoming readers of all ages at our branches this summer - most of our locations will host kick-off celebrations on Saturday, June 1. Alamosa and Westgate branches will hold their kick-offs on Monday, June 3. Online registration starts Friday, May 10.

We know you like books so we thought we would share a local deal that a family school is hosting on Friday February 9th. They are selling used books that families have donated for this used book sale at very very cheap prices. It's open to the public! How cool is that?!

We will begin labeling all of our adult books soon on the sides with "this book is free and not for sale" to deter the recent increase of books being taken and resold from our LFL. Sorry it's come down to this but our home camera has picked up the same person come by twice and pretty much clear out certain book sections which is not normal. And since our adult section was left almost empty, we will be taking a few steps to stop resellers from just taking the books our community contributes so lovingly so that our friends, family and neighbors have a free book resource.

Thankfully the kids section had been left untouched but we actually already label most of those with stamps. So that might have been a deterrent. Don't worry we already restocked from our lovely back stock from amazing people making donations.

I'll place more papers out that provide where you can find food pantries as well soon.

I built this box over Winter Break of 2020 before I went back to college. All I hope is that it can help someone. It is affixed to a tree outside of an abandoned building near Coronado Park, on 1st st near Arvada Ave. The landscape around it has changed since I installed it, there is a settlement outside the building itself so take a buddy with you when you fill it.

I have 3 pair of Solar Eclipse glasses I will be putting out - individually attached to THIS sheet of paper with facts about the eclipse coming up on October 14th 2023. Please grab one for yourself an leave the other pair for others to use. I only have 3 spare so I will post them out today in the LFL and feel free to come by anytime. Enjoy!! You can also buy more pairs for about a dollar at walmart :) If you show up and there are no more in the LFL, I am sorry but you might have missed this offer. Did you know our 1 year anniversary of being open was on July 14th? We totally missed our own anniversary!! Anyways, it's been amazing, we love our community and are so happy we decided to place our little free library out a year ago!

We will be updating the books in our LFL before August, so if you have anything you want to donate please stop by. And if you have any kids age books about school etc we would love some of those books for the new school year.

School starts in early August for some of our kids in the community so let's get our kids ready for another exciting year!

I think we're officially starting a rock garden. The first rock that was left at my house was the one with the Halloween decorations and it was before we got the little Free Library. The second Rock was the owl and it was left at the little Free Library about a month or so ago and then today I go outside and there's a little minion Rock ,which is adorable. So if you like painting rocks come by and bring us your painted rock for everyone to see that stops at our little Free Library. I love this so much.

Bored of our April selections? Us too. Well I took out ALL the books and rotated them out! We have a fresh start! Stop on by, we have board books for babies, little kids books, teen books and adult books! If there is a book you missed picking up let know, I rotate books every few months and keep the rest inside until I get more room to add it back in, so don't worry we still have the book you might have seen.
