Relaxed Night at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science is happening Aug 27th. Enjoy smaller crowds, lower sounds, no flashing lights; a great opportunity for those who may become overwhelmed otherwise.

Friendly reminder that our next Relaxed Night is coming up next Thursday, Aug. 27! If you haven't attended before, Relaxed Nights are evenings for anyone who might get overwhelmed by crowds, sounds, or flashing lights. Or, for visitors who simply enjoy smaller crowds.

For this event, we will be exploring symbols of the United States. Our country is turning 250, join us and take the evening to learn more about symbols of the U.S in a more laid-back atmosphere.

As Disability Pride Month comes to a close, our commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and disability rights continues every day of the year.

This month reminds us to celebrate the strengths, voices, and contributions of people with disabilities while recognizing the progress we've made together. Here in New Mexico, we've reached important milestones, including the passage of the Supported Decision-Making Act, signed into law in July 2025 by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, which expanded options for individuals with disabilities to make their own decisions with the support they choose.

While there is still work to do, every step forward is made possible by self-advocates, families, community partners, and allies who continue to champion equal opportunities and full inclusion.

Thank you for celebrating Disability Pride Month. Let's continue building communities where every person is valued, included, and empowered—not just in July, but all year long.
