Kickoff meeting for our Skyland Raven right of way fire preparedness project!

A true collaboration between a motivated community, the state (thank you Senator Thornton), BernCo Fire Rescue Bernalillo County Fire & Rescue , and Ciudad Soil and Water Conservation Ciudad SWCD .

This project will remove hazards and thin trees along the main access route for this community.

This is how we protect our community and adapt to the changing climate.

We raised the WOOF on the renovations at the main Animal Care facility in the south valley!

This makes adopting your new family member easier than ever. Come and check out one of the least stressful and clean adoption spaces.

Congratulations to our dedicated Bernalillo County Animal Care staff and volunteers. I’m proud to work alongside you and support efforts like this to improve the lives of animals and people!

The new Tijeras Creek Cultural Corridor exhibit is now open in and around Singing Arrow Community Center!

The area around Tijeras Canyon has a deep history of human habitation from Pueblo settlements, Spanish outposts, Genizario land grants, to modern Four Hills, Carnuel, and Tijeras.

The exhibit endeavors to bridge these diverse cultures and times with art, interpretive signage and preservation.

Come check out the exhibit and hike in the over 800 acres of nearby open space!

At tonight’s county commission meeting I’m proud to be introducing the Open and Ethical Elections ballot initiative. If voters approve the county can implement public financing of county elections to limit big money and donor influence at the county.

Commissioner Barbara Baca and I are also sponsoring a GO Bond alternative that would avoid additional property taxes for hardworking families. Instead we would fund additional investments with excess reserves we already have.

Proud to be fighting for better and responsible governance.

The new BernCo Northeast Animal Care Services Adoption and Education facility would not be possible without support from our legislators.

The new facility will be located in Representative Matthews northeast heights district. She has been a strong supporter from day one.

Revitalizing an abandoned building while rehoming adoptable pets. What’s not to love?

Thank you Representative Matthews 🙏

Public safety is always our top priority and we delivered on that commitment in the East mountains with 4 new fire engines.

I joined the Bernalillo County Fire Rescue Department at a push in celebration in the East Mountains.

The county has invested over $4 million in this new equipment. These state of the art vehicles will provide more water to put out fires and more reliable service when seconds count.

Public safety is about collaboration. That’s why I’ve prioritized relationships with key partners like the City of Albuquerque.

APD and BCSO are the premier law enforcement agencies in the state and keeping our law enforcement agencies well equipped, well trained and working together is key to driving down crime.

A special thanks to Sheriff Allen and Chief Barker for their leadership and an even bigger thanks to the men and women who protect our community every day!

We left Herrera Road and Route 66 better than we found it at last weekend’s East Mountain cleanup for Earth Day!

Thanks to the Village of Tijeras and the Carnuel Land Grant for hosting with us.

If everyone does their part every day we will have a better community!
