: “I like to splurge Friday mornings and buy a Blake’s breakfast burrito with green chile of course!”

: “I was a food judge at the Kern County Fair, and my category was carrot cake!”

: “I had the opportunity to work at one of the EXPO NM Food Distributions the first week I was here. It was so amazing to see how everyone’s hard work, talents, energy, and donor support could make something like that happen. It was streamlined, efficient, and so respectful of the clients we were helping. I loved being behind the scenes to help the volunteers get what they needed. It was the best way to orient myself to the food bank and our culture.”

Please join us in thanking Rachel for the work she does to recognize all of Roadrunner’s incredible donors!

Meet December’s , Mayanisha! She is the SeedCorps Program Manager in our Community Initiatives Department. She helps run the SeedCorps Program, recruits new members, supports our current members and makes appearances at mobile food pantries.

: “Pho and spring rolls are my favorite meal and offer the ultimate comfort food for me. Pho takes me back to my childhood and reminds me of my caring and loving grandmother who came to America from Vietnam during the Vietnam War. She always put so much love into her food, and it is a wonderful reminder that food brings people together and can heal broken hearts and our minds and body.”

: “I collect coffee mugs- I am obsessed with a good coffee cup. I probably have spooky mugs, vintage mugs, seasonal mugs, anything and everything. I have dedicated and hand-built a shelving system to display most of my favorite mugs.”

: “One of my most memorable experiences so far here at Roadrunner is the moment I realized I work closely with people who care about others, who are front and center with our community and willing to offer help, resources and lend an ear. The realization that I was surrounded by people who truly care about making an impact and who are willing to do what is best for our fellow New Mexicans was very captivating to me. There are no judgments or assumptions, just big hearts that are willing to help and serve! I faced food insecurity as a child and most of my adult life. I know how it feels to not know where your next meal will come from, so being surrounded by caring individuals that help those that are still in situations like I was growing up means a lot to me.”

Please join us in thanking Myanisha for her hard work and leadership!
