Bipartisan bill aims to address food insecurity among older adults while helping local farmers

We’ve seen a 127% increase in the number of seniors utilizing our food programs. Senate Bill 185 helps us combat food insecurity for our seniors, while also benefitting our local farmers! Thanks to KOB 4 for covering this and to our sponsor and partners Senator Liz Stefanics NM Senate District 39 Farm & Table

A bipartisan bill that’s making its way through the legislature aims to address food insecurity among older adults. Senate Bill 185 would provide seniors with healthy foods while supporting local farmers.

I have just started a new Facebook group about problems in the NM Medicaid waiver programs. If you are someone in those programs, or work / advocate for them, you are invited to join. If you know anyone who might be interested, please spread the word. https://www.facebook.com/groups/nmmedicaidwaiverabuse/
The problem here is the New Mexico State Ombudsman director, Zack Quintero. The person in charge of these Seniors and how he was given this job but does not necessary experience to do it. He is an economist, recent UNM Law school graduate (Spring of 2019), and ran for ABQ City Council in 2019 but has zero experience in health care. So for some reason the Governor gave the former President of UNM Young Democrats this job. Political Nepotism at its finest right there. The state has been rationing care since March for our seniors. That what killed my Grandma in late August, not COVID but how her care and treatment was rationed and then cut off. And worse she died alone without family at her side, courtesy of Zack Quintero. Seven days after I emailed Quintero, seeking his help, my grandma passed away. Quintero never did respond to my email. The hidden Covid-19 health crisis: Elderly people are dying from isolation. The lockdowns and visitor restrictions meant to protect nursing home residents from the coronavirus can also threaten their lives. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/hidden-covid-19-health-crisis-elderly-people-are-dying-isolation-n1244853 https://www.kob.com/new-mexico-news/new-mexico-seeks-volunteers-to-assist-senior-citizens/5949518/
My aunt needs help from this department. Advocate services has several pending lawsuits already! I will contact each board member on each social media platform / call/ email everyday until I reach someone that can help us. Advocate services is attempting to remove all of the assets of the first African American principal in the state of New Mexico. Please help us before it’s too late
