My Husband took me here for the first time last weekend to help me learn how to shoot. There was one particular man (for the life of me I cannot remember his name) that was very helpful to me. I thank that man for his kidness and willigness to help beginner a shooter such as myself. My husband and I will be returning in the near future to get some more practice in. Thanks for being an afforadable, controlled enviornment for shooters!

How to Take Care of Your Taxidermy Trophies
Now that you have your trophies there is some maintenance that needs to be done to keep them fresh and in pristine condition.
There is nothing worse than walking into a trophy room and not being able to tell what color the taxidermy mounts should be. They have been neglected for years hung on the wall and forgotten about, covered by a layer of dust so thick you can't recognize the original colors of such majestic trophies. Or the taxidermy mounts that were hung in a room and no one thought of the effect that the large window would have in fading the mounts.

The three steps that we would strongly recommend to keeping your mounts as fresh as possible are:

Routine cleaning and maintenance this would include dusting and polishing the eyes and a thorough inspection of the health of the mounts. There are insects that like to feed on taxidermy mounts and you should look for evidence that they are doing damage. If you notice saw dust like dirt around the horns, antlers, and feet that means your mounts are being harmed. We would suggest that you call Forrest at www.trophyDOC.com we bug-proof mounts and you should call before it is too late.

Keeping sun light to a minimum would include curtains or blinds, you could also have window film installed to cut the UV rays and the fading affects. If you are building a trophy room, keep the windows small and use windows with reduced UV rays. We have all seen mounts that received too much light.

Temperatures of where you have your mounts hanging should be kept near room temperature without large variables. Taxidermy mounts are leather and if your mounts are stored at extreme temperatures the leather will contract and expand causing cracks and undue wear. Also humidity is very important and should be kept around 45% for the best effect to your mounts.

So remember after you start hanging trophies in your room there will be routine maintenance to keep your mounts in their pristine condition.

City of Albuquerque website says Shooting Range Park reopened for normal hours on May 16. I assume governors guidance is in effect.
Yes indeed. The whole City of Albuquerque is a shooting range park.
This is a terrific safe facility with excellent customer service. We visited yesterday - a busy holiday weekday, with our large family of inexperienced and experienced teens, 50's and seniors. We had a lot of fun and will be going back. Special thanks to Fred and Will out on the trap range for providing assistance, humor and structured, safe, flexibility for our family members. Great job guys!
From Emily Fitzgerald, Jr rifle shooter with Valencia Co 4h Shooting Sports, NM. The Friends of the NRA helps fund grants to cover equipment, pellets, ammo for Junior shooters in New Mexico. Let's keep shooting sports going by supporting our juniors! Hi everyone! My teammates and I are helping the Friends of the NRA sell tickets for the upcoming banquet on September 30th. The banquet helps raise money for junior shooters all over New Mexico. Below is pictures of the information as well as tickets. There are tickets to attend the banquet which are $45 a piece or $500 for a table of 10 (great for any businesses!). There are also raffle tickets ($20) where you can win a rifle and don't have to be present! The banquet is a lot of fun and the possibilities of winning a gun is great! You can message me on Facebook or call/text me for tickets. We also do credit cards! We will deliver the tickets. My number is 505-702-2023
