Melinda Frank at the 2026 Jim Thorpe 5k Run. Melinda was the Masters 2nd place prize money finisher for the NM Association USATF 5k Road State Championships. We are always happy to see Melinda at many of the local races with her son supporting great causes.

Cavern City Aces finishes their Indoor season with the men’s masters team placing 11th out of 90 teams across the nation at the 2026 USATF Masters Indoor Championship!!! Every single athlete that competed this weekend made a podium finish.

When not protecting our country with his unrelenting service in the Air Force, Fritz Stoppelbein has been training hard enough to place 2nd in the Master USATF Association 5k Road Championship hosted by the 2026 Jim Thorpe 5k run. Fritz earns the 2nd place cash award. We salute you for your service and appreciate you as a runner. Thanks for being a part of the NM USATF Association while being station at Kirtland Air Force Base. 🫡

A long time New Mexico USATF Association member, and a great friend to everyone, Irene Terronez, finished 3rd in the USATF Master division of the 2026 Jim Thorpe Run. This placing earned her the 3rd place prize money. It's exciting to see Irene when she shows up and supports so many races and events throughout the state of New Mexico.

Elisa Woody, competing in the 2026 Jim Thorpe 5k run. Elisa battled her way to a 2nd place overall female finish and also earned 2nd place prize money in the NM USATF Association women's open division. Great job, Elisa.

The 2026 Jim Thorpe 5k served as the NM Association Open and Masters 5k Road State Championship.

THE 2026 JIM THORPE RUN IS OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT. IF you pre-registered you can get your bib and shirt in the morning. Walks start at 7:30 and 5K 8:30 am. Sorry if this caused any inconvenience, we are happy the event has regained its popularity. If you know of anyone who was going to pre-register, please let them know.
