New Mexico Technology Assistance Program NMTAP provides technology related assistance for individuals with disabilities of any age, any disability, any income who are living anywhere in New Mexico.

NMTAP offers free services to New Mexicans with disabilities to help them get the assistive technology (AT) services they need. 🔴 As of today, July 6th, NMTAP is now available to schedule in person services by appointment only at our main office located in downtown Albuquerque.
🔴 We are now offering curbside pick-up and drop-off of device loans.
🔴 Shipping of device loans is still available for all individuals who are not in the Albuquerque area.
🔴 Device Demonstrations are also still being offered online via Zoom.
🔴 All of our trainings scheduled for the rest of 2021 will continue to take place online via Zoom.
🔴 Please note that face masks and social distancing may be required for all in person meetings and services if you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Our services changed during the pandemic but we are still here and available for you! We will keep you posted as things continue to change. Thank you for your understanding and patience. The big red button can be changed to other colors and it has a clear cover that can be removed to place pictures or words underneath it. New messages can be easily recorded on the go. The Big Mack can also be controlled or connected to an external switch for alternative access or you can add a switch activated toy for an added reward.

Featured Assistive Technology (AT): Clarity AlertMaster Visual Alerting System
This visual alerting system is designed for individuals who are deaf or have profound hearing loss to help them remain aware o their environment in their home. It is easy to set up, use, and see with its' simplified design and backlit icons. The main unit functions as an alarm clock and has sensors that monitor door bell and telephone rings, knocks at the door, and sounds made by babies and young children. The user will receive light alerts when triggered by the sounds or motions or the bed shaker will vibrate to provide an alert while the user is sleeping. You can use additional units to customize the system for your specific household and lifestyle needs. Additional units can be set up to monitor motion or unusual sounds.
