Today A jury convicted Breon Lamon Kindred of First Degree Murder.
June 27, 2020, Kindred drove his moped behind Lavon King who was on a bicycle.
Kindred fell from the moped, pointed a gun at King and shot him multiple times.
Kindred then got on the bicycle and rode away. A few minutes later, he returned to the scene with his girlfriend then took the crashed moped and other items and took off again.
The crime was captured on surveillance video.
Sentencing will take place at a later date.

FBI Agents and dozens of law enforcement from throughout New Mexico served search warrants on more than two dozen Bandidos today. The Bernalillo County District Attorney's office and Governor's Organized Crime Commission were part of the takedown. They seized 151 fi****ms, ammo, numerous ballistic vests, $32,000 in cash, and Fentanyl, m**h, co***ne, and other items.

FORMER TEACHER CONVICTED OF RA**NG SECOND GRADER
Today a jury convicted Daniel Aldaz of two counts of criminal s*xual pe*******on of a child under 13, and 2 counts of criminal s*xual contact.
In 2018 and 19, he r***d a seven-year-old little girl, one of his students. The crimes happened inside his classroom, where he taught second grade in Albuquerque.
Sentencing will take place at a later date. He faces more than 50 years in prison.

Special Agents with the Bernalillo Co. District Attorney's office and Albuquerque Police arrested Tomas Trujillo. Court records show he had outstanding warrants on cases involving possession of a controlled substance,
child abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, aggravated fleeing from law enforcement and receiving or transferring stolen motor vehicle.
Court documents also show Trujillo has an extensive criminal history involving auto theft and using drugs in the vehicle while his infant daughter is in the backseat. During his arrest, it was discovered he was in a stolen vehicle. When Agents and APD made contact, Trujillo fled but was eventually stopped and taken into custody
without incident. Agents charged him with Receiving/Transferring a Stolen Vehicle, Aggravated Fleeing from Law Enforcement, and his outstanding felony warrants.

The mother who drove drunk and crashed into a wall on I-40 in ABQ, killing two children, will spend 18 years behind bars, followed by five years probation. Today, a judge sentenced Alexis Martinez for the crime. In July, Martinez pled guilty to multiple charges. Police say in March, 2021, she and a friend had been drinking when Martinez got behind the wheel of a car with four children inside. She was speeding more than 80 miles an hour when she crashed into a wall on the Interstate. Two children, including her daughter, were killed in the crash. Her adult passenger also pled guilty to multiple charges in the case.

Today, Special Agents with the Bernalillo County DA's office and Members of New Mexico State Police SWAT arrested Mark Halladay Jr.
Court records show Halladay had two outstanding warrants on cases involving violation of a restraining order, breaking and entering, battery on a household member, larceny, and criminal damage to property. Investigators say he broke into his ex-girlfriend's home while she was asleep. When she threatened to call police he took her phone and punched her in the back of the head. Police say Halladay then used the victim's bicycle to get away.

Today, a judge ruled two suspects charged with the shooting death of a 5-year-old little girl will remain in custody. The suspects, ages 15 and 17 years old, and three other teens are all being held while their cases go through the judicial process. Police say August 13, the teens were in stolen cars when they drove by two homes and opened fire, resulting in the death of the little girl.

Today, a judge ruled 19-year-old Sencheray Hernandez will remain in custody as her case goes through the judicial process. She is one of five suspects charged with the shooting death of a five-year-old little girl on August 13 in Albuquerque. Police say a group of teens in stolen cars shot into two ABQ homes. One of those shootings resulted in the child's death.

Special Agents with the Bernalillo County District Attorney's office arrest a man wanted in connection with a shooting at a downtown nightclub.

BACKGROUND:
Court records show June, 2022, Shane Blanchard attended a concert at the Launchpad in Downtown ABQ. As he was leaving, he demanded a T-shirt from the victim. Investigators say Blanchard brandished a firearm from his waistband when the victim refused to give him the shirt.

Court records show the victim got into a car. Blanchard got into another vehicle and fired multiple shots at the victim, injuring him.

Blanchard was picked up by Bernco DA Agents today. He's charged with four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Negligent use of a Deadly Weapon and shooting at a Dwelling or Occupied Building.

Torrez was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm earlier this month.
Court records show Torrez has multiple criminal charges and convictions dating back to 2015, including violent crimes and property crimes.

Today a judge ruled murder suspect Kevin McKinney will remain in custody as his case goes through the judicial process. Investigators say in August 2022 McKinney and Corey Langford were supposed to meet regarding the sale of a gun. When the deal fell through, police say that's when McKinney shot and killed Langford. Court records show McKinney has a criminal history in Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico.

Special Agents with the Bernalillo County District Attorney's office and US Marshals arrest man for failure to appear in court --wanted on charges that include punching his ex-girlfriend and hitting her with a gun.
BACKGROUND
Court records show in August 2020, Orlando Carballo-Castillo pointed a loaded 9mm firearm at his girlfriend and fired one round into the wall behind her during a verbal argument. Later that night, investigators say Carballo-Castillo punched the victim multiple times on her face and arms, then obtained a rifle and hit his ex-girlfriend on her back with the stock of the rifle.
He was arrested, jailed then released. He violated his conditions of release, and a felony warrant was issued.

Agents and Marshals arrested him Thursday in NW Albuquerque. He's charged with Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, and Aggravated Battery.

Today Felipe Davila pled guilty to aggravated burglary with a deadly weapon, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and a felon in possession of a firearm.
He forced his way into the home of family members at gunpoint, took their vehicle, and assaulted three people inside.

A jury convicted Christopher Madore of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
In 2022, he was parked in front of an optical store. Police checked on him and spotted burnt foil, a lighter in his lap and a bag of approximately 17 fentanyl pills at his feet.
The Bernalillo County District Attorney's office offered him a chance at treatment instead of incarceration. He declined and wanted to go to trial.
He is facing up to 8 years in the Department of Corrections because he is a habitual offender.

Special Agents with the Bernalillo County DA's office and Isleta Police arrest a woman with a Child Abuse warrant.
BACKGROUND:
In 2022, Albuquerque Police responded to a 2-year-old unconscious and not breathing. The baby was transported to UNMH, where doctors applied three doses of Narcan to revive the child. Investigators determined fentanyl was the cause. APD charged Larissa Lovato with Child Abuse, and an arrest warrant was issued in March, 2023. Special Agents with the 2nd Judicial District Attorneyโ€™s Office were able to locate Lovato near the Isleta Casino on August 21, 2023. The Isleta Police Department assisted Agents in taking Lovato into custody. Court records show Larissa Lovato has a history of possessing a controlled substance, receiving/transferring stolen vehicles, harboring or aiding a felon and aggravated fleeing of a Law Enforcement Officer.

Today a judge ruled Armando Martinez will remain in custody as his case goes through the judicial process. Investigators say he is a co-conspirator in the homicide of Jonathan Garza. Police say February 19, 2022, Garza was shot to death in the parking garage of an ABQ nightclub.

Today a judge sentenced Andrew Garcia to 18 years in prison, with four years suspended.
In 2017, Garcia stabbed Audra Willis, killing her. Her body was later found in the foothills of Albuquerque.
Earlier this year, he pled guilty to the crime.

Today a jury found Adelio Gallegos guilty of first-degree murder for the January 25, 2021 shooting death of 63-year old Mike Guerra.
The shooting happened outside an ABQ m**hadone clinic following a minor fender bender. An argument ensued after Gallegos demanded payment, then Gallegos went to his car to retrieve a rifle and shot Mr. Guerra.
The crime was captured on security video.
Gallegos faces life in prison.

Today a judge ruled Joseph Barboa will remain in custody as his case goes through the judicial process. Police say he was n**e when he broke into a relative's home. APD's SWAT Team was called to the scene to apprehend Barboa. Investigators say June 25, 2023 he shot Demetrius O'Neill in the head while the two were driving in different cars in NW ABQ.
Police believe four days before the murder, O'Neill broke into Barela's car and stole a gun he intended to sell.
Investigators say Barela tracked down O'Neill and fired multiple shots, killing O'Neill.
Court records show Barela has a criminal history dating back to 2004.

A Jury convicted Taya Leyba of receiving or transferring a stolen motor vehicle.
In September 2021, bystanders were understandably concerned about a child left in a hot car while Leyba went shopping, so they called the police.
When police spoke to Leyba, she gave them four different stories about how she came to possess the car earlier that day.
Turns out the car was hot in more ways than one -- it had just been stolen.
Leyba had the victim's driver's license and other people's credit cards in her bra.

A judge sentenced Casino Salazar to 18 years in the Department of Corrections, followed by three years probation.

In 2021, Salazar was drunk, speeding down Montgomery when he ran a red light and slammed into a car driven by Kevin Barton. Barton was killed in the crash. In May, Salazar pled no contest to vehicular homicide and multiple other charges.

Days before that fatal crash, Salazar was arrested in Roswell for DWI and evading police.
