As we close out National Hispanic Heritage Month, we are reflecting on our celebration of the vibrant cultures, deep-rooted histories, and resilience of the Hispanic and Latino communities.

Reflected in this year’s theme, “Unidos, Somos Más” (Together, We Are More), we know that true inclusion is built together.
Across New Mexico, Hispanic and Latino children with disabilities and their families inspire us daily with their strength, joy, and advocacy. National Hispanic Heritage Month may be closing, but our mission to ensure every child with a physical disability has the support, accessibility, and community they deserve remains year-round.

Thank you to the parents, advocates, and creators who make our communities richer and more inclusive. Let’s carry this spirit of unity forward today and every day!

Today is !

Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation brought families together to enjoy the fall season in an inclusive, welcoming environment! A wonderful evening of food, games, and pumpkin carving was shared by our children and families.

Engaging, inclusive programs like these are made possible by Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico's Blue Impact grant! Their support is essential in the operation and growth of CTHF programs!

Every journey with cerebral palsy is entirely unique, but our strength is found when we stand united💚

Cerebral palsy is the most common physical childhood disability, impacting movement, posture, and coordination. At Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation, we look past labels and focus on what's possible. Through our Quality of Life programs, we help children living with cerebral palsy build their confidence, make new friends, and experience joy in childhood!

On World Cerebral Palsy Day, we are celebrating the unique abilities and valuable perspectives of all living with CP.

Join us at New Mexico Mobility Day on Saturday, Oct. 17!

CTHF will be there with adaptive bikes and sports chairs so participants can try out a variety of pieces of adaptive equipment. Whether you're curious about wheeled sports, looking for new ways to stay active, or just want to cheer others on, come move with us and the other amazing organizations that will be there!

Mobility Day brings together individuals with disabilities, families, clinicians, and community members for a day of inclusive movement, including running/walking, yoga, strength training, pickleball, swimming, and more. You'll also have the chance to connect with peers and learn how New Mexico's SEBCM laws (HB 131 and HB 38) are expanding access to activity-specific mobility devices.

All are welcome and registration is FREE! RSVP here: https://charity.pledgeit.org/NMMobilityDay or at the link in our bio!

This month, we’re celebrating two incredible communities and helping others better understand what makes them unique.

Spina bifida is a birth defect in which the spine and spinal cord don’t develop properly during early pregnancy. It is a type of neural tube defect, and its effects can vary widely from person to person. 💙

Down syndrome is a genetic condition caused by having an extra copy of chromosome 21. It can affect development and learning, and each person with Down syndrome has their own unique abilities, personality, and strengths. 💛

At Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation, we have the privilege of improving the quality of life for children with spina bifida and down syndrome through adaptive sports and programming.

We celebrate the unique abilities and perspectives that they bring to our community!
