Work your knitting, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery and other hand stitching projects. Enjoy two hours of uninterrupted stitching time with like-minded enthusiasts of the fiber arts. This is not a teaching class, but may find yourself learning from others, No sign-up necessary, just bring your project. All ages and levels of stitchers welcome!

Movies in the Parking Lot continues through August 1 and is free of charge and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates open at 7 p.m. Movies are shown in the parking lot of the Isleta Amphitheater at 5601 University Blvd, south of Rio Bravo. Upcoming movies include: July 18 – Frozen 2 | July 25 – Lion King (2018) and Aug. 1 – Cars. Social distancing is observed; outside food and drink is permitted. No alcohol permitted. Food trucks will be onsite. Dogs are permitted, but must be on a leash.

Bernalillo County Office of Senior and Social Services and Teeniors have teamed up to offer technology coaching to Older Adults in the month of July. Up to 30 free one-on-one sessions will be available for Bernalillo County seniors ages 55 and older. Lessons range from texting and calling to using Zoom and social media.

Teeniors are tech-savvy teens and young adults who provide help to senior citizens, or any-aged person, learn technology through one-on-one, personalized coaching. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Teeniors has transitioned from in-person coaching to 100% virtual coaching. Lessons can also be provided in Spanish if needed.

Silver Horizon’s Senior Drive-Thru Food Market will offer free groceries for seniors 60-plus at Bernalillo County community centers from 10 to 11 am on the following days:
· Wednesday, June 24 - Rio Bravo Senior Center, 3910 Isleta Blvd SW
· Thursday, June 25 - Los Padillas CC, 2117 Los Padillas Rd SW
Due to state public health emergency orders to minimize the risk of spreading coronavirus (COVID-19), seniors picking up food are asked to wear a mask, stay in the drive-thru line and remain in vehicles at all times. Please do not show up before 9:30 am to minimize traffic congestion.

All staff will adhere to safety precautions w/required PPE, and staff will place food into the seniors vehicle trunk. There will be one way in and out of the event.

Many seniors remember this past time. Come out on Saturday and enjoy a show.

The Bernalillo County Office of Senior and Social Services is engaging the New Mexico startup Teeniors to help support local senior citizens as they adapt to the digital world during COVID-19.
Up to 30 one-on-one coaching sessions with a live, experienced tutor are available over phone and video calls for Bernalillo County seniors, age 55 and older.

We’re kicking off a series of Townhalls. Our first is going to be right here on our page and will include our Aging and Long-Term Services team.
