The sculpture was commissioned by the city’s Public Art Program to highlight the wildlife along the Rio Grande in Albuquerque’s North Valley and serve as a landmark to the renowned Rio Grande Nature Center State Park. Gliding Flight is a steel sculpture on a concrete base of a stylized depiction of a Canadian goose.
