Last week, our team attended the 2026 National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care & Treatment in Washington, DC.
This four‑day event brought together Ryan White program recipients from across the country to engage in learning and professional development in key topics in HIV care, including:

🔴 Data utilization
🔴Improving engagement and re‑engagement in HIV care
🔴Clinical quality management
🔴Planning and resource allocation
🔴RWHAP and EHE fiscal and grant management
🔴Strategies to reach people with HIV who are undiagnosed

One of the most powerful moments was hearing Ryan White’s story, as told by his mother, Jeanne White‑Ginder—a moving reminder of how far we’ve come and why this work continues to matter. Her words highlighting Ryan's challenges, his courage, and the impact he had on shifting national perceptions about HIV. Our team left inspired and energized to continue strengthening HIV care across our region.

On June 18, 2026, the SCAETC Central Office staff and local partners gathered in South Padre Island, Texas, for a strategic planning meeting focused on shaping the future of the program over the next three years. The meeting brought the team together to identify priorities, strengthen collaboration, and develop actionable strategies to address challenges affecting care and workforce development throughout the region.

As a result of the meeting, several work plans were established to guide the South Central AETC’s efforts moving forward. We are grateful for all the work our local partners are doing and look forward to what's ahead! 👏 🎉 😎
