25th anniversary observed at September 11 ceremony at WSMR

White Sands Missile Range will observe the 25th anniversary of September 11 with a remembrance ceremony at 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Main Post Chapel.

The ceremony will be followed by lunch provided by the Gary Sinise Foundation honoring first responders at 11 a.m. at the Frontier Club.

The day will conclude with a stair climb for CAC holders, service members and dependents at 4 p.m. at the LC-32 Gantry.

ESGR NM Volunteer Erin O'Donnell visited the City of Las Cruces Wastewater Treatment Plant to present three Patriot Awards to: Jordan Kirkham, Jamie Fritze, and Joaquin Murillo. 1-200 ADA Reunion

As a community service, the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services is sharing the following information for Veterans who may be interested.

Former members of the 1st Battalion, 200th Air Defense Artillery (1-200 ADA), New Mexico Army National Guard, are invited to reconnect at the upcoming 1-200 ADA reunion in Roswell.

The reunion will take place October 2–3, 2026, at American Legion Post #28 Hall, 1620 North Montana Ave. in Roswell. The weekend will provide an opportunity to renew friendships, share experiences, and reconnect with fellow Veterans who served with the 1-200 ADA.

Monday, August 24,2026. Socorro

Even the best laid plans come apart due to exigencies. ESGR NM had planned on presenting four Patriot Awards to the leaders, colleagues, and mentors of Senior Airman (E-4) Carlos Espinoza NM Air National Guard, currently on extended orders at Kirtland AFB with the NM ANG performing aircraft maintenance on C-130's. Carlos is also a lineman with the Socorro Electric Cooperative. However, only two supervisors at the Socorro Electric Cooperative were available: Tony Lopez and Ernest Torres.

Carlos had this to say about his two mentors:

Of Tony: "Tony Lopez has provided leadership and guidance throughout my civilian career. Always teaching and leading by example."

Of Ernest:"Ernest has made it a priority to stay in contact with me to make sure my family and I are doing well."

Unfortunately the CEO, Manny Gonzales, a former Sergeant Major of Marines, was unavailable as he is getting ready to turnover the reins on September 6 and become the CEO in Grants, NM of another utility company.

We also missed Jason Otero who was away for extended training.

A statement of support will soon be signed. Thank you to Socorro Electric Cooperative for supporting Carlos Espinoza. A great place to work!
