We’re making room for more fun & inclusive recreation at Loma Linda Community Center! Renovations are underway to fully redo the interior, add a new gym, a stage for community events, and double the size of the garden.
There are still spots available for tomorrows Henna class at Singing Arrow Community Center.
Participants who sign up will learn how to design and apply their own henna. Those interested in attending should register for this free class at play.cabq.gov (search “henna”), or by calling the center at 505-768-4760.

Job Mentor Program students from Eldorado have been working hard at Disability Rights New Mexico for one of their Job Shadow rotations this semester. Students have been helping organize paperwork and are experiencing first-hand what working in an office can be like. All students who enroll in the JMP class, held at all traditional APS high schools, can participate in job shadow experiences for a stipend.

This week some of our YFS team got the opportunity to represent the City of Albuquerque at the National Recreation and Parks Association Annual Conference. Not only did we send attendees, we also had our very own present during a breakout session! Our team presented on “Cultivating Young Leaders,” about investing in and inspiring young leaders through youth employment, and there were over 300 people in attendance at the session! Congrats team!
