A wildland fire was ignited by dry lightning yesterday on Laguna Pueblo, located south of Redondo Mesa. As of June 9, 2026, the Lucero Fire has been fully contained, controlled, and called out. Due to the coordinated efforts of the Laguna Pueblo Police, Rangers, Fire Department, as well as USWFS Southern Pueblos and NM State Forestry, the fire was successfully contained to just one tenth of an acre.
