Explore Academy is a free public high school established by state charter for students from Albuquerque and surrounding communities in central New Mexico. Each classroom course focuses on a limited number of state educational standards and lasts just twenty-two days with each student able to demonstrate proficiency on every standard at the end of each short course. Each course is offered in a numb

er of styles designed to draw out student interest, with popular books, sports, music, media, or other themes underlying classroom teaching and learning. Students choose the style of course they want to join in order to meet college-prepatory graduation requirements. What we offer is an interesting and free public high school education. Those in the Albuquerque area are invited to fill out an interest form at our website, www.exploreacademy.org. Free enrollment spaces are still available for the 2014-2015 academic year. If you do not happen to be in the Albuquerque area or do not have any high school age students, we who have worked so hard to create this unique school would be encouraged if you would like this page.

✨ Admin Spotlight: Meet Ms. Hill! ✨

This week, we're excited to introduce Ms. Hill, our Dean of Students for the K-5 campus!

With more than 20 years of experience in public education across Texas, South Carolina, and New Mexico, Ms. Hill has served as a classroom teacher, science lab instructor, school librarian, and administrator. Her passion for education comes from a lifelong love of learning and a belief that education is the great equalizer. What she loves most about education is creating a positive environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Before joining Explore Academy, Ms. Hill also worked as an editor for an educational publishing company, served as the educational director of a nature center, and even owned a landscape design business! Outside of school, she enjoys painting, hiking, and reading.

Thank you, Ms. Hill, for your dedication, positivity, and commitment to helping every student thrive. We're so grateful to have you as part of the Wolfpack! 🐺

✨ Admin Spotlight: Meet Mrs. Lemons! ✨

This week, we're excited to introduce Mrs. Lemons, our Assistant Principal at our 6-12 campus!

With more than 20 years in education, including 16 years in classroom and leadership roles, Mrs. Lemons has dedicated her career to supporting students, staff, and families. Throughout her journey, she's served as a teacher, athletic coach, academic coach, and now as an administrator—bringing a passion for education and helping others succeed every step of the way. What she loves most about education is building meaningful relationships with students, parents, and staff while watching individuals grow in confidence and achieve their goals.

Outside of school, Mrs. Lemons is a proud mom of two sons who keep her busy with baseball. She also enjoys spending time with her family watching movies, fishing, camping, playing sports, and caring for her three dogs.
