Sept. 1st: Picture Day 📸
Also - It’s time to sign up for chess club! The Bears Chess Club is meeting on Wednesdays this year and starts up on Sep. 16th! ♟️

Learning chess in a club setting can serve as a fun ‘mental playground’ that effectively sharpens the focus, patience, and executive functioning skills essential for students’ classroom success. It is also a great place for kids to make new friends! This program is brought to us by Learners Chess, a local non-profit that has been running chess programs for kids in New Mexico since 2010. This year’s coach will be Coach Levi.

WHEN: This year’s club will meet on Wednesdays, after school from 4pm - 5:15pm.
WHO: Open to all 1st graders and up.

A healthy school community starts with knowing what our students and families need! 💚
Our school counselor is asking families to take a few minutes to complete this needs assessment. Your feedback helps her better identify ways we can support our students and families.

Welcome back, Banda Bears! 🐻

Happy first day of school to all of our 1st-5th graders. We hope you all have a wonderful first Friday!

Kindergarteners, we can’t wait to welcome you on your first day, Tuesday, Aug. 11th. Kinder parents, stick around the garden for a boo-boo breakfast that morning to meet other families and connect with PTA members. We’ll bring the tissues 🥹

Welcome back students and families! We hope you all enjoyed your summer and made some lasting memories! 😎

Before their first day of school, we have Meet the Teacher on Thursday August 6th from 2:30-3:30pm. This is a day to meet the teacher, see the room and drop off supplies. The meet the teacher day is only for grades 1-5. The teachers of the kindergarten students will contact the parents on when they will come meet their teacher. This will be either Friday, August 7th or Monday, August 10th. Just a reminder that 1st through 5th grade return Friday, August 7th. Kindergarten will start up on Tuesday, August 11th.
The school day runs 9:15am-4:00pm.
Students in grades K-2 will be dropped off and picked up in the north loop located on the corner of Burton and Wellesley. Students in grades 3-5 will get dropped off and picked up in the east loop along Pershing Ave. If you have students in grade levels amongst the two groups, they can be dropped off and picked together at any of the two loops.
