Parts of Albuquerque still seeing low traffic during pandemic, nearly a year later

Nathan Masek, a senior transportation planner at the Mid-Region Council of Governments, recently sat down with KRQE News 13 to discuss how metro travel patterns are shifting through the pandemic. “What really jumped out in the data was pretty significant reductions in areas of employment such as downtown, the Journal Center, the southeast where we have the national labs, the airport, as well as a lot of commercial activity," noted Masek.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – We’re getting a first look at the impact COVID-19 is having on metro traffic throughout 2020 and when we can expect roads to return to “normal.” T…

New Mexico Rail Runner Express

From passenger service on the New Mexico Rail Runner Express and Amtrak to common freight carriers like the BNSF Railway through Albuquerque and Belen, railroads are essential for New Mexico's economy and communities. Today is the start of #RailSafetyWeek. We hope you'll look and listen before crossing the tracks!

Trax says, look both ways and listen before crossing the tracks, and only cross at designated crossings. Expect a train at any time and from either direction.
