Happy April to everyone!

I hope this post finds you well. Here are the numbers for March 2021. During this month we served 2,194 plates of food. There were 97 volunteers and five groups that came and helped us serve.

We were happy to welcome Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico and AmeriCorps who came out to commemorate Cesar Chavez National Service Day on March 31st. The group came in and deep cleaned our walk in coolers, dry pantry and food box areas, deep cleaned kitchen and pulled weeds around the property. We were blessed for all the help that we received during this event.

We continue to work closely with our Board of Directors to take steps to reopen the facility as soon as it is possible.

I pray that you all have a blessed Easter - HE HAS RISEN!!!

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:11-13

Also to the 979 volunteers who stepped out of their comfort zone and stepped in to help serve a meal, provide clothing and all the work that was needed to feed over 16,800 meals and serve 1,426 individuals for clothing from March to November. Also to those of you who have supported through financial donations, and prayers we thank you.

During this time we can either turn to discouragement and disbelief, or we can kneel and pray, putting our faith in God’s goodness that stirs up hope. Hope is looking beyond our narrow perspective and limited view. It is the faith we put in the tiny details that we can’t see but ultimately make up the bigger and more glorious picture. Hope is the confidence in knowing that no matter what happens, we will not be broken and we will not be alone.

On behalf of Danny Whatley, Linda Jacquez, Michelle Herrera, Maria Dominguez, Billy Fowler, Will Harrington, Eric Ketchum, Tulley Sam, and Martin Velasquez we humbly thank you.

T-Mobile, one of our corporate partners, surprised us with an amazing donation of socks, hats, gloves and other much needed items of clothing this morning. They are an amazing group and their advice to other businesses and individuals is not to forget the less fortunate especially at this time of the year. Thanks T-Mobile, you Rock and you rocked The Rock with your donation.
