During our two-year program, families live in a safe, fully furnished transitional apartments with a community of their peers. This stable home provides a platform for the intensive education, life skills, and community building that families undertake during their time at Saranam. Through their studies, families gain skills that will enable them to sustain positive outcomes and increase their long-term earning potential. After 16 years, we have served 132 families, including 152 adults and 272 children. Most importantly, 80 percent of our families successfully exit our program into safe, stable living situations on their own income. Visit our website to learn more about how you can be a part of the work to end homelessness in our community and keep up to date on our program and families’ accomplishments on their journey home.

This was too sweet not to share. Last week families greeted incoming families with home-baked treats and special welcome cards to make their move-in day special.

There could be no better #inspiration for a #motivationmonday than kindness. As they say, in a world where you can be anything, be kind.

- Sandia National Labs for donating microwaves for our apartments
-the wonderful Sue and Dave Campbell for giving 10 vacuums to families

Thank you! You, dear community, are simply amazing. 💓

Our Story

Saranam is an innovative, two-generational program that helps families in New Mexico who are experiencing homelessness to achieve long-term self-sufficiency and break cycles of poverty.

“I have been extremely successful at Saranam. I’ve stayed sober. I graduated from CNM and PIMA. I am living with my son and rebuilt a relationship with my mom. I learned how to utilize resources and be responsible. I’ve become a leader and a mentor.”

I just talked to a friend on the phone who told me Saranam was her favorite charity because it makes such an incredible difference in a family's life not only while they are in the program but also for the rest of their lives.
What a fun evening, painting rocks ! So many different colors and designs.
I really enjoyed this last Newsletter - good to see new families moving in and about all the little ones joining the group. Godspeed in your new chapter!!
Is there any need for a night stand? Wood pretty solid. 3 drawers. Has a few dings and dents. Needs some barrel nuts to secure a couple drawers too........
Hi. This is my niece. We have reason to believe that she is with her mom, Dawn Bailey-Curley, there in Albuquerque. Can you please post and/or share? Thank you.
