Aren't these the cutest little plants?! Each of our families received one for the holidays. They will be the perfect compliment to our spring gardening classes. Thank you!
Our mission is to empower families to end their homelessness and poverty through housing, education
Saranam is an innovative, two-generational program that helps families experiencing homelessness in New Mexico achieve long-term self-sufficiency and break cycles of generational poverty. During our two-year program, families live in a safe, fully furnished transitional apartment with a community of their peers. This stable home provides a platform for the intensive education, life skills, and com
munity building that families undertake during their time at Saranam. Through their studies, families gain skills that will enable them to sustain positive outcomes and increase their long-term earning potential. After 16 years, we have served 142 families, including 298 children. Most importantly, 76 percent of our families successfully exit our program into safe, stable living situations on their own income. Visit our website to learn more about how you can be a part of the work to end homelessness in our community and keep up to date on our program and familiesโ accomplishments on their journey home.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!๐
Make sure you put out some cookies for Santa! ๐ช๐ชWe have all eaten our fill (and then some) of the delicious goodies brought to our families by the Albuquerque United Methodist Women and to our staff from the Assistance League of Albuquerque. Thank you for the YUM!
Let's face it, moms do A LOT to support their families. They deserve a special something for the holidays to honor all they do. ๐๐Thanks to our partner, REDW, each mom received something from their wish lists. Thank you so much!
Our offices will be closed from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2 to give our staff a chance to celebrate the holidays and new year with their loved ones. We will see you in 2023!
A HUGE holiday thank you to What's Important Now - New Mexico (WIN). With the help of their donors and sponsors, every child in our program received gifts. Our families have an amazing holiday ahead of them. We so appreciate your support!
And a special shout out to for helping WIN make this enormous feat possible!
In the midst of the hustle and bustle, we want to take a minute to gently say that it's OK if this season is hard. The holidays don't look the same for everybody and can sometimes can be difficult and triggering.
Please remember to take care of yourself during this time. If you need to talk remember you are not alone.
We hope you have your "WOW!" ready! The amazing families, students and staff at Manzano Day School blew us away! The entire 2nd grade decorated 80!! bags with sweet holiday messages and filled them with toiletries, essentials, and books.
That's not all! They also fulfilled a wish on every child's holiday list at Saranam.
What a phenomenal school community inspiring such beautiful hearts of care. Thank you!!!!
Wishing light, peace and love to all who celebrate!

You know the phrase, "it takes a village"? Well, our village included a whole school this year! Thanks to all the families at Double Eagle Elementary School for hosting a VERY successful drive for baby items.
We certainly need it this year with so many babies in our program. They collected several carts full of baby items and tons of gift cards for diapers. Their donations filled up our store room!
We feel so lucky to have you all as part of our village!
Talk about making the holidays special! We are so grateful to ABQ Covenant United Methodist Church for providing each of the children in our program with a personalized stocking, filled with things they would like. Thank you!!

A mom of three, Alicia Fout was going to college and working 30 hours a week but still often struggled to cover the cost of child care.
If you are doing holiday shopping this weekend, consider adding something from WIN's holiday wish lists. They support a lot of really amazing nonprofits in town- including Saranam- and your gift can help make the holiday magical for someone in Albuquerque.

It's Giving Tuesday and I have a great organization I am supporting this year. I would love for you to get involved also. This year I am doing a book drive for Saranam.
For families experiencing homelessness in New Mexico, success starts at Saranam. Their proven, two-year program provides everything they need to break the cycle of generational homelessness and achieve long-term stability and independence.
They offer housing, food, education, and training. But the residents receive so much more: a place of refuge, a supportive community, help healing, and hope for a brighter future for themselves and generations to come.
I have several way you can support.
#1 A cash donation through PayPal [email protected] /Venmo -Richter last four 1720/Facebook pay. I will then order books with the help of Saranam for the families in their care. All remaining funds will be given to Saranam.
#2 A book order through the link below. You can order books for yourself and the rewards will go to Saranam in the form of books for these wonderful children.
https://s8830.myubam.com/2488602
#3 Cards For A Cause- for this option you just tell me which box of cards you want and send me $30 ($13 of which goes to Saranam).
The Cards for a Cause Fundraising Program offers five boxed sets of beautifully embellished cards with matching envelopes. We offer two All Occasion Boxes, a Thanks & Blanks Box, a Kids Birthday Box, and a Holiday Cards Box. See examples here: https://youtu.be/ddIaq4CoJBQ
#4 Just share this post! Let's get our whole community involved!
We can't let this week go by without saying thank you to those who made it very special.
๐ฆ๐Big gobbely thanks to Del Norte Rotary Club and for donating SUPER generous baskets filled to the brim with all the fixings for a delicious Thanksgiving meal. It was quite literally, a carload of food!
๐ซ๐ฝWe also had a phenomenal time celebrating the holiday with some alumni who joined us for a potluck. It was so good to catch up and hear about the amazing things they are doing.
Our hearts (and bellies) are full of thanks!
Thank you to everyone who donated for ! Your support gives families hope for a home that can shelter them and be a catalyst for their goals.
๐ Soon even more families can thrive like one our alumni, who recently BOUGHT her own home using the knowledge and support she got at Saranam.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving hope a home with us. ๐
Hope is not a luxury. It is fundamental and essential for growth. This , we can give that hope to families who need it.
Your gift today will help families reach for the future they deserve.
Giving Tuesday is tomorrow! There are so many ways to give- help us celebrate this day of hope in a special way.
From all of us at Saranam, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving full of many things to be grateful for!
โค๏ธโค๏ธ this special video reminder from one of our amazing volunteers that there is always something to be thankful for- big or small!
We are firm believers of the adage that the more gratitude we have, the more things we have to be grateful for. Especially when it comes to NM skies and chile ๐ โ๏ธ๐ถ
In the spirit of gratitude, we are so thankful for places like Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico. They provide such a vital service for our community, making sure people and families have access to nutritious, filling food.
We spent some time volunteering as a team recently -we packed enough rice for 400 meals!- and were so grateful for the experience.
They are having their annual letter carrier's food drive this Saturday, November 19. Simply leave a bag of nonperishables by your mailbox and it will get delivered to RRFB.
Love this gratitude from one of our Board Membersโฃ๏ธ So many thanks to the people who opened up the world of books to us. ๐๐
The world is busy, it's easy to rush past the "thanks" part of this season. We wanted to take the week leading up to Thanksgiving to slow down and ask some of our volunteers, staff and families what they are grateful for as they reflect on the year.
What we do is important because of the people it touches. That is why it is so important to us to nurture a culture that celebrates the unique contributions that our experiences and perspectives bring.
Letting this commitment strengthen and guide our work is ultimately what makes us, and our community, successful.

Move over Monet, we have some great artists here! Super huge shout out to the students at Albuquerque Academy who painted some beautiful signs for our playground.
Their designs perfectly complement the murals painted by National Labs last month. Thank you everyone for making our play space so fun and encouraging!
Generational impact is what we are after- breaking the cycle so kids and grandkids can keep success growing. Check out this great example of our 2-gen success!
Final core value #6: Compassion.
At the end of the day, compassion is what it is all about. Believing that every path has it's unique twists and turns, and that everybody deserves kindness and a chance for a better tomorrow.
We hope you've learned a little more about Saranam through this exploration of our core values. If you ever want to learn more visit saranamabq.org or just drop by- we'd love to see you!

๐๐ Honk your horn for Grace Church and Christian Brothers Automotive for making free oil changes and minor repairs available to our families!

Having a car is a huge asset and maintaining it correctly can prevent catastrophic expenses. We are so grateful that they offered this amazing service so our families' cars can remain in good, working order.
Core value #5: Faithfulness
It is a huge leap of faith to join Saranam- one that requires a huge amount of determination and courage. However, it is a chance that pays off when families leave amazed at what they have accomplished. We know that the only limits on our potential are the ones we self-impose.
We are honored to take these risks alongside our families to strengthen them and our community.
Trick or treat! ๐๐ป Happy Halloween, everyone!
