Earlier this week, Lance Corporal Eliza Garcia of Albuquerque, New Mexico was promoted meritoriously due to her performance during her time spent on our Command Recruiting (CDR) Program.

While taking part in our CDR program, then Private First Class Garcia had the opportunity to spend time with her family without taking any leave. During this time, Garcia was able to identify two qualified individuals who made the decision to be United States Marines. Because of this contribution, Lance Corporal Garcia received a well earned meritorious promotion which will help her stand out amongst her peers as she enters the Fleet Marine Force.

If you would like to know more about our CDR program, contact your recruiter or recruiting substation.

The purpose of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Program is to educate and train qualified men and women with the fighting spirit to serve as commissioned officers. As the largest single source of Navy and Marine Corps officers, the NROTC Scholarship Program plays an important role in preparing mature young men and women for leadership positions in an increasingly technical Marine Corps.

High school students pursuing an NROTC scholarship should begin the application process in the spring of their junior year. By making college more accessible through scholarships, the NROTC program will allow you to devote your time to excelling in your studies.

For more information on this unique opportunity, visit marines.com/nrotc

What does it mean to you?

COMFORT is a slow deathπŸ’€. On a platform full of cliche sayings and false motivation, very few sayings and words will stick with you over the years.

One that I hope you will take on and remember, no matter what stage of your journey you are currently on is the following;

'Practice periods of voluntary discomfort or be forced to endure permanent suffering.'

Let me know what you think this means, or what it means to you?
