We recently had the opportunity to tour the Deseret Farms Food Pantry, a resource of the Church of Jesus Christ in Central New Mexico (sandwiched between the North Valley and the NE Heights) that will open by appointment on August 4, 2026. Pretty soon, these warehouse shelves will be filled with quality food, diapers, and other essential items. We are so thankful for this new resource center where our neighbors will find essential food items in addition to wrap-around services and referrals that help community members set and reach goals. St. Vincent de Paul will be honored to partner as a referral for eviction prevention, utilities support, food, and clothing.

We would like to thank Sandia National Laboratories for their kindness in partnering with us in our mission to house, clothe, feed, and advocate through a $5,000 Family Stability Grant. 🩵

The entirety of this grant money will go to support our neighbors who are at risk of losing housing or who are working to re-establish secure housing. We work hard every day to connect neighbors with resources that can help families to maintain or regain stability. Thank you for this helpful grant funding, Sandia National Labs!

We recently had the pleasure of touring the facilities of one of our partner organizations doing amazing work to care for people experiencing homelessness in the Wells Park neighborhood and beyond–HopeWorks!

Our St. Vincent de Paul ABQ Thrift Store has had the honor of donating excess clothing to Hopeworks over the past several months, and we were so amazed to see the facilities where those clothes are being distributed. Did you know that Hopeworks has a Day Shelter, Behavioral Health Center, and Permanent Supportive Housing complex all within a few blocks of each other in the Wells Park neighborhood?

As we made our way through their facilities, we were amazed to see how modern and welcoming all of the spaces felt and how joy filled and kind the teams were.

Employee Spotlight: Jeanette 💙

Through our partnership with Albuquerque Job Corps, Jeanette completed a work-based learning placement at our Albuquerque Thrift Store and quickly became an invaluable member of the team.

"Jeanette has tried a bit of everything. At Eckerd Connects Job Corps she completed both the welding and office administration programs...But during work-based learning, she spent time helping out at St. Vincent de Paul ABQ Thrift Store. The store funds their nonprofit helping people in Albuquerque with housing and utility needs. She instantly fell in love with the work and the mission. Now she is a full-time employee at the thrift store, working to make everyone's day just a little brighter," quote from the Job Corps Newsletter."

We're grateful to have Jeanette on the SVdP team and thankful for our continued partnership with Albuquerque Job Corps, creating opportunities that change lives while strengthening our community.

Meet the team at the St. Vincent de Paul Immaculate Conception Conference serving Downtown Albuquerque! Active since 1935, the Conference is made up of nine enthusiastic Vincentians who are committed to faith in action and spiritual growth through service to their neighbors.

Serving the heart of Downtown Albuquerque means walking alongside a diverse group of individuals and families, many of whom have a need for vital housing and utility assistance.

Through our valued partnership with CABQ Community Safety Department - ACS, we had the privilege of witnessing a beautiful milestone this morning.

ACS arrived with a truck full of furniture to help a neighbor move into his first apartment after experiencing homelessness. The joy and anticipation on his face as he prepared to begin this new chapter were truly priceless.

St. Vincent de Paul was honored to help make this fresh start possible by providing a bed and linens. Moments like these remind us that when our community comes together, hope becomes home.

We were honored to participate in the Santa Fe Mayor's Summit on Homelessness yesterday along with amazing community partners, advisors with lived experience, and funders.

The event is the kickoff to what city officials said will culminate in the creation of a three-year strategic plan for services.
