Alburnett Fire Dept

Alburnett Fire Dept The Alburnett Fire Dept serves as the primary emergency response organization for Alburnett and also Otter Creek Township in Linn County, Iowa.

We are 100% volunteer. We are a small town volunteer fire department that protects the town of Alburnett and the township of Otter Creek. This station is NOT manned 24/7, activation of emergency services requires a call to 911. We serve a population of around 800-1000 in an area of 36 square miles. We average around 80-100 calls a year including fires, medical assistance, standbys, and public rela

tion events. We meet twice monthly on the first and third Mondays. If you are interested in joining our fire department either stop by during one of the meetings or ask one of the existing firefighters.

We have spent the last 2 days doing one of the things we love, education. We had the pleasure of providing the Alburnett High School class of 2026, graduating seniors, with their CPR/Fire Safety and Stop the Bleed training. Every year, we are fortunate to be allowed the opportunity to meet the graduating class and provide this service alongside our partners at Monroe Township Fire Department and the Linn County Sheriff's Office. SRO Deputy Omar provided the class with valuable discussion and education during lunch, which was provided by Paul Revere's Pizza/Jeff Schuster. We, along with the Alburnett Community School District, believe it is important to provide this valuable education to these young adults who will be soon out on their own, and we're grateful for the support of community businesses such as Paul Revere's. We shared some of the live posts over the past couple of days, but we would also like to share some still photos. Thank you, Monroe Township Fire Department, Linn County Sheriff's Office, David Gilchrist, Jeff Schuster, Alburnett Community School District, Sue Tull, and class of 2026. Good luck in your future endeavors, and if you need anything or have any follow-up questions about what you learned, just reach out!
