September is Library Card Sign Up Month and no matter what your tastes are, a library card from the Aledo Public Library hits all the right notes!

Check out a classic story or hit shuffle and try something new. Find harmony at one of our programs: book club, storytimes, crafting classes, mahjong, Project BAT, homeschool at the library, and others! A headphone kind of day? The last day of August calls for one last post about our summer Unearth A Story reading program!⛏🦖 Summer reading😎⛱️📚 is the Aledo Public Library's biggest yearly program and we want to thank our sponsors and volunteers for making this year DINOmite! 🦕Contributions from the below-listed businesses and groups provided 5,275 rewarded prizes!!🍧📕

📖1,646 registered readers
📚16,589 physical Items loaned
⏲ 1,563,900 logged reading minutes
🙋‍♂🙋Over 850 volunteer hours from 160+volunteers
🎨More than 1,000 take-and-make crafts spanning the nine weeks of summer
🗳 3,405 votes collected in the DINO Showdown bracket challenge. T. Rex WON!🦖

Today's Aledo Public Library summer reading recap gives focus to the featured theme "Unearth A Story ( dinosaurs🦖, paleontology🦴⛏️ , and archaeology🪏) during one of our Friday Fun events. Thanks to Dr. James Everett, past president of the North Texas Archaeological Society, we learned what an archaeologist is and what they do AND how we can unearth a story in our own backyard!

This is the first year the library has hosted the Texas A&M University Chemistry Roadshow ⚗️🧑‍🔬, but it won't be the last. A full hour and a 1/2 of DINOmite science that educated and enthralled!!
