The 4th Annual Downtown Christmas was a success!! We were so happy to see downtown flooded with the Christmas spirit🎄🎅🏽☃️❄️
A huge thank you to our amazing staff and group of volunteers, Main Street Alexander City, Alexander City Fire Department, Alexander City Police Department, and everyone else that had a hand in making today special for our community! This event wouldn’t be possible without all of you!
The Grinch took a stroll down Main St earlier to visit Santa and took off with his candy canes🤣
The Grinch made his way to our 4th Annual Downtown Christmas and even managed to steal some candy from Santa
🚨TODAY🚨
Thanks Lee Apparel!! They turned out perfect!
Main Street Alexander City x Alexander City Parks and Recreation Downtown Christmas is this Saturday!🎅

🚨ATTN MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS🚨
Our staff hung ornaments in the trees at Strand Park and The Plaza today in preparation for this Saturday’s 4th Annual Downtown Christmas event.. We finished hanging all of the ornaments at 2:30pm and by 4:20pm we received pictures of a group of middle schoolers pulling them down in The Plaza area. When I walked over to the area, I was greeted with one middle schooler slapping an ornament for “fun”, I found 3 ornaments torn down and tossed aside, and when I addressed the group I was ignored, talked back to, and made fun of as I walked the torn down ornaments back across the road.
I can’t tell you how heartbreaking it is watching our staff’s hard work be destroyed less than a couple of hours later!! We’ve contacted a school resource officer and plan to have these areas monitored better tomorrow and Friday.
If you have a middle schooler that walks downtown, please explain to them the amount of time and effort that our City staff and Main Street Alexander City have put into making Downtown a magical experience during the Christmas holiday!

Looking good so far, almost half of our vendors have already arrived and started setting up! Come out and see us tomorrow!!
Sonny Wilson gives a breakdown of what a typically Monday morning looks like after a Friday night football game. We’ve got another home game this Friday, so make sure you get your tickets to cheer on the Wildcats!!
Come in to this on field 5. Got district baseball tournaments tonight. So how do we decide who is going to play in the mud today? Stay tune and watch the next video.
Despite Hurricane Delta trying to ruin all of our fun, the 40th Annual Oktoberfest prevailed! I just want to say a huge thank you to all of our vendors, entertainment, the car show participants, petting zoo, inflatables & everyone that came out to support the event. Most importantly I want to thank all of our workers and volunteers, without them this event would be impossible! Can’t wait to start planning the 2021 Oktoberfest!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Oktoberfest around here. Y’all come out and show these vendors some love this morning!
