BURN BAD LIFTED

The prohibition on open burning has been lifted by County Judge Brumley. However, please continue to exercise caution if you must burn and remember state law prohibits burning trash, boxes, lumber, mail, carpet, tires, and other in-organics. Please consider the list in the link below and call the chief if you have any questions. If you have a large burn, please let the county know to prevent us from being dispatched for smoke. The non-emergency number is 501-303-5648 but please use 9-1-1 for all emergencies, real and perceived (I am unsure what this means but Ronnie said it had to be included). However, we are always happy to respond when needed. Thanks for helping us out during the burn ban and being safe. You all rock!

Smoke in the Valley!

Hello, Neighbors-

Thank you for alerting us to the heavy presence of smoke throughout the district. We received numerous calls and texts, then the county dispatched crews from LNFD to check it out. In speaking with the Arkansas Forestry Fire Communications Center at the Malvern Airport and Saline 911, there is a large controlled burn near Lake Maumelle and a smaller one off East Lawson Road. Given the prevailing winds, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure, you will see and smell smoke for a day or so.

Although we know about this one, if you discover a fire or suspect a different one, please do not hesitate to call 911. When in doubt, call us out.

Oh. Our apologies. Since this was not nearby, we did not post an alert but we will work to do so in the future when it may impact our district and we are made aware.

Thanks again for all of the support.
