Good evening Majors.

Tomorrow, we begin the 2026 - 2027 school year! We hope that you have had a relaxing and restful summer break. Get ready to embark on an eventful year filled with many lasting memories and moments.

Here is the schedule for the week. If you did not attend Majors Gear Up this past week, laptops will be distributed during Period 3 Advisory/ Major Time. If you still have your laptop from last year, be sure to bring it for a quick check-in.

We look forward to seeing you bright and early in the morning! Welcome back!

Starting today (June 22), no-cost meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed on the FCPS Summer Food Service Program webpage. (See link below) Students must remain on site while eating their meals.

This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.

Summer sites will continue to be added, so please check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.

Good day Majors!

The final week of the 2025 - 2026 school year has arrived! The Class of 2026 officially became alumni this past Tuesday and we wish all graduates the best as they begin life after Mount Vernon High School. Congratulations again go out to the Class of 2026!

For our underclassmen, the remaining final exams will be held on Monday and Tuesday. School issued laptops will be collected on Tuesday during 4th period. Finally, Wednesday is our Outdoor Wellness Activities Day and dismissal is set for 10:10 am.

Be sure to study for your remaining finals and we will see you tomorrow! Have a great rest of your day.

Good day Majors and to the Class of 2026, your time has arrived!

For the seniors - graduation is Tuesday at Eagle Bank Arena on the campus of George Mason University starting at 9 am. Please plan ahead for your arrival to the arena. Traffic and parking can be challenging. We look forward to celebrating your success and the start of life after MVHS.

For the underclassmen, Tuesday is a Final Exam study day. No classes will be held at MVHS. Wednesday is the last full day of classes as final exams begin on Thursday June 11th. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 am and a Grab and Go Lunch will be available for those who would like one.

We hope you enjoy the remainder of your day and last few days of the 2025-2026 school year! Take care and we will see you in the morning!

Members of the Class of 2026, you have reached the end! Your final official days of classes comes to an end on Wednesday. We are just over one week away from graduation ceremonies at George Mason University and we are excited for you!

Here is our schedule for the week. Class of 2026, please refer to the senior page on the MVHS website for the full schedule of senior activities and upcoming events. For underclassmen, stay focused - your opportunity to walk the stage is closer than you think! Finish strong - final exams begin the week of June 8th.

Eid Mubarak to all who observe! Eid al-Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” is the second of two main holidays celebrated in Islam. Muslims believe that Eid al-Adha signifies the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism, to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as ordered by Allah. It focuses on sacrifice, the pilgrimage to Mecca and giving to those less fortunate.
