It may be summer but the learning doesn’t stop at Bush Hill ☀️ A team of our educators attended the UDL Summer Conference to learn from the amazing drshelleymoore and FCPS educators how to use UDL strategies to support inclusion. And the fabulous Ms. Laha won some new flexible seating options in the raffle! 🎟️

FCPS is now accepting applications for PreK. The FCPS PreK programs provide a high-quality early learning experience for qualifying children ages 4 and 3 years old by September 30 who live in Fairfax County. Families are encouraged to apply as soon as possible; students who are 4 years old and those with multiple risk factors are prioritized.

Applications are accepted online, by email, or by mail or in person at our office at 7423 Camp Alger Avenue, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.

Our newest batch of 5th grade safety patrols are trained and ready! These patrols practiced evacuations on a smoke-filled bus, exited safely from a tipped over bus, and learned about the new features on electric buses. Thanks for keeping our panthers safe! 🐾

Third grade entrepreneurs created unique products to solve problems. Moving through the design process, the inventors brainstormed problems and possible solutions, create a prototype, and reflected on their successes. They also created a pitch that they presented to their peers. Enthusiastic inventors received support and pretend investments from their classmates 💰

Today, we hosted a Multilingual Learner Progress Celebration! 🏅🎉

We are proud of our scholars for their hard work mastering academic English. With students from 35 different countries speaking 27 languages, our diversity is our greatest strength and speaking multiple languages is a superpower!

At Bush Hill, every student can be successful. Our students who scored a 4.4 or above on the WIDA and exited from multilingual learner services received certificates today.

Join us in giving a massive round of applause to our brilliant multilingual students from Kindergarten through 6th grade! 👏🏼 🧑🏽‍🎓🐾
