🚨 Golf Cart Owners - May called… and it’s wondering where some of you were. 😄

Alexandria City Ordinance requires that any golf cart operated on city streets must be registered with and inspected by the Alexandria Police Department before hitting the road.

Golf cart registrations are required to be renewed each year during the month of May. That means owners must submit their golf cart for inspection by local enforcement officials, obtain a new sticker after passing inspection, and pay the annual fee based on current state-approved amounts and/or as set by City Council.

If May got away from you, now is a great time to get caught up before cruising around the city.

The complete Golf Cart Ordinance can be found here:

🚨 Community Alert: Increase in Vehicle Break-Ins 🚨

The Alexandria Police Department has seen an increase in vehicle break-ins in our community. We are asking residents to stay alert and take a few simple steps to help deter theft:

• Always lock your vehicle, even when parked at home
• Do not leave valuables in plain sight
• Remove purses, wallets, fi****ms, electronics, and keys from your vehicle
• Park in well-lit areas whenever possible
• Report any suspicious activity immediately

If you have any information regarding recent vehicle break-ins, please contact Sgt. Branson at the Alexandria Police Department at [email protected]

Today’s gas leak response was a great example of teamwork and dedication to public safety in our community.

A huge thank you to Alexandria Police Chief Brian Holtzleiter and Alexandria Fire Chief Adam Matson for their leadership and coordination during today’s incident. Their departments worked side-by-side to ensure the area was secured, residents were protected, and the situation was handled safely and efficiently.

We also appreciate the patience and cooperation of our residents during the temporary road closures and evacuations. Alexandria is fortunate to have first responders who are always ready to serve when it matters most.

The high today is predicted to be less than 60, but look how warm the Beulah Park walking path looks. Maybe three dozen walkers are daily regulars. Friendly people, fresh air, sunshine, beautiful scenery. See you on a stroll later today...maybe tomorrow?
