❤️❤️❤️ Thank You to The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce On behalf of the students we serve and ALL in ALX who Give to support scholarships that make college dreams become reality, we are SO GRATEFUL to be a Finalist for your "Non-Profit of the Year" award. We are proud to be among such a fantastic group of finalists!

Given COVID-19 and its far reaching effects on Alexandria's most vulnerable families and students, and the importance of supporting Black students and students of color during a nationwide reckoning on racial justice and equity, there's never been a more critical time to support scholarship in our 35-year history than Right Now.🎓🎓🎓

Thank YOU, The Chamber ALX! conta.cc/2RpJsTd

We ❤️ sending out checks for scholarship renewals to help Titans complete their sophomore, junior and senior years of college! DID YOU KNOW: We support students with financial need through ALL FOUR YEARS of College to help make a college diploma possible? This year we received the largest number of applications for scholarship renewals in program history. This means, importantly, that our kids ARE getting their degrees! It also means that the need for assistance during COVID and the struggle for racial equity and justice is great and growing. We need your support now more than ever. Thank you to all who support us.

First Brett Howell Medley Scholarship Awarded to Naizhaer Taxitiemuer, 1st Gen Standout Student off to VA TECH

Congratulations to Naizhaer Taxitiemuer, the First Recipient of the Howell Brett Medley Scholarship which honors devoted husband, father, T.C. Titan dad and beloved Alexandrian, the late Howell Medley. We'd like to thank the many Alexandria residents who generously contributed to help establish this scholarship in Howell Medley's name, especially Lisa Medley and family.

Congratulations to Naizhaer. He is a first generation college student who was an academic standout at T.C. Williams, described by his teachers as an empathetic and compassionate global citizen. He fled from East Turkestan with his family at age 11 to escape Chinese aggression and genocide against Uyghurs in China. He earned a 4.3 GPA, with APs and DE classes, worked part time, was a member of the Chinese Club and the NHS and a passionate volunteer with City Year DC. Naizhaer, we cannot wait to see how high you will rise at Virginia Tech and beyond.
Thank you again to ALL who contributed, and continue to give to support the Howell Brett Medley Scholarship.

‘A Long Time Coming’

With so much uncertainty and tumult -- the COVID crisis, and the ongoing struggle for racial justice and equality-- today we offer news to celebrate. There are many students in Alexandria who are in the process of becoming U.S. citizens or are currently undocumented. Today on July 1, a new Virginia law takes effect that will allow undocumented students who have attended at least two years of high school in Virginia to RECEIVE IN-STATE TUITION at Virginia State Colleges and University. On behalf of the many bright, hard-working Alexandria students who remain undocumented and who are struggling to find a way to pay for college, we celebrate!

If you know of a student or a family in Alexandria or in Virginia who could benefit from this new law, PLEASE PASS IT ON and SHARE. Thank you to the State of Virginia! T.C. Williams High School Alexandria City Public Schools Virginia

A new Virginia law allows undocumented students to pay in-state tuition at colleges and universities.
