Another insightful article on the late great Frankie Welch by Ashley Callahan. Frankie made Duvall House her home and dress shop for some 35 years. We keep a homage to Frankie in the kitchen with samples of her scarves and a wonderful press quality photo.

Frankie Welch was a scarf designer and fashion entrepreneur whose clients included politicians and First Ladies as well as prominent businesses, universities, and organizations. Three photos of the same - but so very different - space through the years. The first was taken in 1971, the second in 2007, and the third in 2021. Sometime between the first and second, someone put in the effort to strip centuries of paint from this original archway dating to 1783.
