AlexRenew's July Anniversary
Alexandria's 275th anniversary isn't the only thing to celebrate this month. AlexRenew (formerly the Alexandria Sanitation Authority) officially began processing wastewater on July 12, 1956. Happy belated anniversary!
We are AlexRenew! Our wastewater professionals serve the Alexandria community 24/7/365 to ensure to protect public health and our waterways. Today is Drinking Water & Wastewater Professionals Appreciation Day, today and every day we appreciate the work of our team members.
Solar Panels at AlexRenew
AlexRenew is committed to sustainability in everything we do. Our Environmental Center - the first LEED Platinum building in Alexandria - is equipped with roughly 400 solar panels that generate 13% of the building’s electricity.
At the AlexRenew construction site, crews are excavating for the future Hydraulic Grade Line (HGL) control structure. Once in service, this structure will convey wet weather flows from the new Hooffs Run Interceptor to AlexRenew for treatment.
