📌REMINDER📌: Drop in TONIGHT, 8/28 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Mount Vernon Recreation Center (2701 Commonwealth Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22305) and meet CHALK R!OT the artists selected to create a new street mural in Warwick Village. As part of the Vision Zero initiative in Warwick Village, CHALK R!OT will work with the community to create a colorful street mural at the intersection of Hickory Street and Kennedy Street. ABOUT THE PROJECT: The City of Alexandria’s Public Art Program is coordinating the planning and implementation of public art to support the City’s Vision Zero initiative which works to eliminate fatal and severe traffic injuries in Alexandria. A recent study by Bloomberg Philanthropies found that city streets became considerably safer for pedestrians after incorporating art into roadway designs.
