Mission Statement: To support and complement LSU Alexandria by ensuring that all who work, learn, study on or visit our campus have a safe and worry-free environment in which to pursue their individual and collective goals and objectives. The dedicated officers of this department understand the uniqueness of a campus environment, and strive to serve the students, staff, faculty, and visitors with

a community oriented policing philosophy. Each of our officers are well-trained certified police officers who are commissioned by the State. The safety and security of our community is of utmost priority, and can only be assured with the input and assistance our community members. The LSUA Police Department was happy to partner with the Student Life Department for Thursday’s “Do-Nut Break the Law” event! Students stopped by to enjoy a favorable donut, grabbed some cool shades, and spent a little time visiting with our Officers.

A special thank you to LSUA Student Life Department for providing the delicious donuts!

As part of their RA training, the LSUA Residential Assistants from The Oaks, took part in an open conversation about campus safety, situations they may encounter, and knowing when to involve the LSUA Police Department.

Sgt. Williams welcomed both our new and returning RAs, giving them the opportunity to share their thoughts, ask questions, and talk through real-life scenarios. She provided guidance and insight into safety, incident response, and the role of the LSUA Police Officer in supporting our LSUA residential, student community.

Conversations like these, are meant to help our RAs feel more prepared and confident in their roles while strengthening the connection between our LSUA residential, student community and the LSUA Police Department.

Sgt. Williams had the opportunity to welcome our new faculty members yesterday during New Faculty Orientation, offering an introduction to the LSUA Police Department and sharing important information about safety and police services on our campus.

Building relationships with our Faculty, Staff, and Students is an important part of serving our LSUA campus community. We are pleased to welcome our newest Faculty members to LSUA and look forward to working with you throughout the year.

Starting this week off, Sgt. Williams had the opportunity to meet with our new Dental Hygiene students during their orientation as they begin their first day and take the next step toward their educational and professional goals at the Allied Health Building in downtown Alexandria.

The LSUA Police Department is committed to being a familiar and approachable presence for our students, wherever their education takes them. Throughout the semester, our Officers will continue to be present and engaged at the Allied Health Building, helping foster a safe and supportive environment where students can focus on their education and future careers!

We are so happy to Welcome our future Dental Hygienists and look forward to being part of their educational journey!

From responding to calls for service and assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors, to conducting safety checks, providing guidance, and building relationships across our LSUA campus. Our Officers are committed to being present, prepared, and proactive.
