💙 Alexandria Police Department Supports “Stand by the Badge” Initiative

We are proud to share that the Alexandria Police Department is participating in Attorney General Russell Coleman’s new “Stand by the Badge” initiative, a statewide effort focused on supporting the mental health and well-being of Kentucky’s law enforcement officers.

Alexandria Police Chief Lucas Cooper has helped establish a peer support group serving the Northern Kentucky region. Through this program, officers have access to fellow first responders who understand the unique challenges and stresses that come with serving our communities.

We are grateful for the commitment of Chief Cooper and our Alexandria Police Department to not only serving our community but also supporting the men and women who serve alongside them. Strong officers and strong teams help build stronger, safer communities. 💙

2026 Street Improvement Project - BRECKENRIDGE-UPDATE

Residents in the Breckenridge area are advised that the City's 2026 Street Improvement Project will include milling and repaving on Breckenridge from #124 to Tollgate, as well as Connie Lane, East and West Boesch, and Horizon Hill Court.

As some residents are aware, storm drain replacement began this past week as a part of our 2026 street plan. Storm work should conclude next week and Riegler crews will begin curb, gutter and apron tear out. This work is scheduled to start on Tuesday 9/8.

As noted below, our contractor, Riegler, will notify residents that will be affected by the first round of improvements.

What residents should expect:

• Contractor crews will contact affected homeowners in advance to coordinate curb and driveway apron replacement. This work may temporarily affect access to driveways for several days.

• Street parking may need to shift from one side of the street to the other as construction progresses. The City will work with the contractor and residents to help coordinate parking as needed.

• A concrete repair on Breckenridge at KY 10 will require a one- to two-day, one-lane road closure. Advance notice will be provided when the closure is scheduled. During this work, motorists will need to use alternate routes.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while this important street improvement work is completed.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out with their four-legged friends for this year’s Dog Day at the Park! 🐶💙

From wagging tails and happy pups in the play zone to the best-of contests, local vendors, delicious food, drinks, and ice cream—it was a day full of fun, laughter, and plenty of puppy love! 🐕🍦🛍️
