UK Creative Community Fellows alum Rosalind Allen embarked on a sabbatical in the US this past fall to learn about the different approaches that organizations take to connect families with nature.

Discover her experiences in this thoughtful blog she shared with the Children & Nature Network.

“Gardening can help deepen people’s connection with nature.”

In our guest column by Rosalind Allen of the RSPB, Rosalind explores the opportunities that come with empty plots and abandoned parks. Organizations such as the Greater Newark Conservancy, BLISS Meadows, Detroit Audubon and The Elizabeth Conservancy see possibilities in these vacant spaces, transforming the places into gardens, farms, and native meadows that teem with life.

Where do you see a less-than-obvious opportunity to connect with nature? Share below and read more at https://bit.ly/3QRLJo8

The 2022 Creative Community Fellows: New England cohort recently gathered with NAS for their Creative Community House. For nearly one week fellows lived and worked together — with some connecting virtually in a House at Home experience — at an incubator-like environment on a breathtaking property in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.

Fellows spent time together learning and discussing how to take a design thinking approach to their work, exploring the intersections of joy and justice, creating art, and forming new collaborations. Those who joined in person also spent time connecting with nature on the property and enjoying meals together as a community. Ask any of our Creative Community Fellows alumni and they can tell you just how transformative this time together can be.

Thank you to our Fellows for such an inspiring week and to Barr Foundation for their support!

Now we are doing a homecoming event !! approximately 120 arts leaders from all over the world are coming to Maryland, USA. We will work on three core priorities: Knowledge Building, Network Weaving, and Reflection Time. It would be a proper URUS I guess.
A small group has been selected to design the programme ‘’Planning Committee’’. Guess what, I am in that group!! Pls, see the link below. This is something to come out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to go further. Looking forward to this

100% Thrilled about the creativity and heart these artists are bringing to our arts access study at next week's focus groups. We are so grateful to them for sharing their work with us and being a part of this project! We'll share a little more about them soon, so stay tuned! Thanks to our partners for getting us connected. (FYI: Our research team are also pictured below, and are bringing lots of creativity to this study!)

Hi there, NAS friends! Looking for advice from colleagues who use Tessitura and who've recently re-done (design, platform, functionality) their websites. Can you PM me? Eager to hear your experience, the financial investment you made, etc. Thank you!
