Simplify Global Education’s 2026 Advanced ESL Graduation Ceremony was a wonderful celebration of the hard work and accomplishments of its graduates. The evening recognized students who have dedicated themselves to improving their English language skills and reaching their educational and career goals.

Thank you to Simplify Global Education for inviting the Workforce Development Center (WDC) to be part of this special celebration. Kim, Naseema, and Tahmina were honored to attend, and Kim and Naseema had the privilege of presenting certificates to several graduates. Congratulations to all the graduates on this well-deserved achievement!

The WDC Career Center has temporarily moved to the Fifth Floor Training Room at 4850 Mark Center Drive due to water damage and repairs currently underway at the center. Please check in at the Customer Relations lobby on the fifth floor and our team will get you set up with a laptop or to apply for benefits.

You can check out a laptop for job searching, benefits applications, and other self-directed resources. All EBT and workforce services inquiries have also shifted to the fifth floor for the remainder of this week.

Our staff are continuing all programming and virtual services without interruption.

This summer, the Summer Youth Employment Program connected 193 participants with meaningful work experiences across 53 worksites providing opportunities to build professional skills, explore career pathways and create long term connections.

Thank you to our City leadership, community partners, participating businesses, and the SYEP team serving as mentors, sharing your expertise and believing in Alexandria’s youth.

It's a brief reprieve from the heat & humidity today with high temps back around 100 degrees mid to late week. We had a great time at our AI class at Charles Beatley Jr. Central Library! Twenty-three participants joined us to learn about artificial intelligence and build new digital skills. We're grateful for our continued partnership with Charles Beatley Jr. Central Library and Edu Futuro, and look forward to more opportunities to learn together.
