Today, WEBA-West End Business Association Board President, Anna Davalos, Vice President Mary Ann Burstein, and Board members Ralph Critten, Paul Friedman, and Jennifer Ayers came out to the ALIVE! food warehouse and treated ALIVE! staff & key volunteers, the Alexandria Sheriff's Office, City of Alexandria, Virginia, and Workforce Development Center, City of Alexandria, VA to gift cards from Wiygul Automotive Clinic and lunch from Ande Charles Slider Bistro food truck, known for the “Best Gourmet Sliders” in the DMV. Staff and volunteers enjoyed individually packaged cheeseburgers, fried chicken, fried cod, and plant-based burgers with a side of tots. This generous gesture from WEBA is to recognize and thank local organizations dedicated to serving the Alexandria community during the COVID-19 emergency response.
As our restaurants continue to recover, helping them recruit and train talent is an important role for our Alexandria/Arlington Regional Workforce Council & Workforce Development Center, City of Alexandria, VA. Thanks to Jess Arnold & WUSA 9 for highlighting Alexandria's newest restaurant, Barca Pier & Wine Bar and the opportunities our restaurants have to hire more local talent as state restrictions on capacity continue to be lifted.
