Acadian Ambulance currently has 20 ambulances and 40 medics deployed in response to Hurricane Michael. Five of the ambulances are deployed as part of the Louisiana Ambulance Alliance and fifteen are deployed as a Network provider under American Medical Response’s contract with FEMA.

Some of the crew functions may include patient triage, treatment and transport as well as on-site medical stand-by. They may also participate in transport and
redistribution of patients to free-up receiving hospital bed space or other patient care related duties as local government may need.

The units are currently deployed to the Pensacola and Panama City, FL areas as well as Stone Mountain, GA.

The crews are working under the guidance of FEMA, State and local EMS agencies
to provide emergency and non-emergency patient services.

Be careful folks and remember, IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE........

An individual claiming to be from the Department of Health and Human Services has been using Facebook to contact senior citizens. This individual is claiming that you can receive money through a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services. This is a scam in which the suspect is attempting to gain your money and your personal information.

This scam starts when you receive a message on Facebook from someone with the same name and profile picture as someone on your friends list. From there, they direct you to contact someone else who they claim will be able to help you get the money from the grant. Facebook and other social media platforms are easy target areas for scammers, so please be careful online and make sure you know who are you talking to, and never send money to anyone that you do not know.

If you have fallen victim to this scam, or you have had this attempted on you, visit www.ic3.gov and click on "File a Complaint".

If you, or someone you know, has been the target of a scam, please report it to the Winn Parish Sheriff's Office at (318) 628-4611.

Thanks to everyone who attended our Open House and Ribbon Cutting last night at the Food Bank's Main Distribution Center.

The Main Distribution Center, along with the Client Services Center and Food Resource Center, represent the culmination of hard work, dedication, and tremendous support from this community. These facilities are tools, enabling the Food Bank of Central Louisiana to serve more people in a more efficient manner, helping them on their journey from hunger to hope. We are so thankful for our donors, partners, board of directors and campaign leadership committee who made this possible. We look forward to being able to utilize our new and upgraded facilities as we continue to work towards our mission of alleviating hunger in central Louisiana.
