CELEBRATE JUNETEENTH IN ALEXANDRIA! Friday is a federal AND state holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Alexandria is READY with a slate of exceptional events to learn, enjoy, and honor the resilience, achievements, and contributions of the Black community to our city. Stop by on 6/19 at the Juneteenth Festival at Charles Houston Rec Center at 901 Wythe Street from 3 to 8 PM. Mayor Alyia Gaskins will speak at 4, with TONS of amazing activities, from a TikTok dance competition for teens to tours of the African American Hall of Fame. Can’t make it? Plan to do a tour on Alexandria African American history with the Manumission Tour Company, ran by City Councilman John Chapman. The rich history of African American contributions in Alexandria helps make our city so unique, interesting, and beautiful.

Let’s flip the U.S. House!
Join Dining for Democracy to support Janelle Stelson, who’s running for Congress in the PA 10th district. Janelle – who will be with us in person – is a well known local news anchor with deep ties to the community. Her opponent is a hardened Trump ally who’s done little for the district. The most recent polling has Janelle up by 6 points, which puts her in a strong position to beat Perry in November. GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOMETHING!
