Today is Kick Off Day! Join us in the Teen Area to learn more about signing up and to spin the prize wheel! We are also giving away sublimated book bags and book marks!

Our Teen Summer Reading Challenge starts today and runs through July 31st. The challenge is for students entering Grades 6-12 in the fall of 2026 only. To learn more visit https://www.douglascountylibrary.org/events/events-calendar/teen-events

There is a seperate reading program for children entering grade 5 and under. Please stop in the library to learn more.

Notice the black marker on the side of the books? Unfortunately, someone participating in the kids scavenger hunt is still doing some damage to library materials. Ms. Sarah loves having the scavenger hunts up because so many kids love them and look forward to winning a prize. Unfortunately, this kind of damage is not something we can ignore (though we can at least clean it up easily). If you have a child participating in the scavenger hunts, please remind them to treat the library respectfully. We all appreciate it!

Kathleen West is the author of four acclaimed novels and a lifelong Minnesotan. She teaches school by weekday and writes fiction in the early mornings, on the weekends, and in the summers. Kathleen lives in Minnetrista with her family.

There are 24 new bestsellers, 25 new audiobooks, one new music CD, fourteen new children's books, and 54 other new books, including 27 that are available online.

The new bestsellers this week include "Yesteryear," "Our Perfect Storm," and "Dungeon Crawler Carl, Vol. 1."
