The Windsor Park HOA has issued its July 2020 newsletter. The letter has been emailed to residents via our property management company, NRP, and was posted onto residents' doors this morning. We will attach a link as soon as the newsletter is added to the WP website. Tonight's Windsor Park HOA monthly board meeting will take place at 7 pm via Zoom. (As a reminder, meetings always take place on the third Thursday of each month.) Residents are invited to join the meeting via the link emailed by NRP, which is on the first page of the agenda. If you did not receive yesterday's email and would like to participate in the meeting, please message the community here and someone will reply with a copy of the link for you.

Our new trash company, Trash Away, is very early! ☕ Their goal is to pick up garbage on Monday and Thursday between 6 and 6:30AM. Recycling between 6 and 6:30AM on Thursdays only. They have two trucks and Windsor Park is their first stop. Call 703-339-4560 for bulk pickups from Trash Away.

This evening, the management company sent another email container a letter from our new trash vendor, Trash Away. Please read this letter for details, which can also be accessed at the updated page on our WP website. Please note that glass is not curbside recyclable and must be dropped off at the purple receptacles provided by the county. Windsor Park Trash Guidelines

New Trash Service: The Association has entered into a new contract with a new trash & recycling contactor. Last day or trash service with American Disposal will be June 29th
and the last day of recycling service will be June 25th, recycling containers will be collected at the same time during this service as they do belong to American Disposal. If
you purchased one separately and wish to have it collected, do not place out on June 25th. If you wish to set up a separate time for them to collect the container you can
contact American Disposal directly at 703-368-0500. Days and services will remain the same will our new contractor, Trash Away. Services will begin effective July 2nd and
services should not be interrupted. Please review the detail and important information moving forward for trash & recycling services.

Normal Trash Collection: Services will be provided on Monday and Thursday and must be placed out before 6am on the scheduled day and not before 6pm the night before
expected trash pick-up. All Trash must be in tightly sealed in plastic trash bags not weighing more than 50 pounds per bag or in a trash container. Trash must be placed on
curb side in grouped areas within the community. Trash contractor will be responsible for collecting any trash under these guidelines that are within 10 feet of the curbside
area. Please see recyclable, bulk trash and yard waste guidelines for information outside normal trash.

Recyclables will be collected on Thursdays: items include, plastic bottles and jugs; metal food and beverage containers; scrap metal; cardboard and mixed paper placed in clear
plastic bags or recycling containers clearly marked as recyclables. Each townhome will be provided with one (1) 18-gallon container for the collection of recycling. This will be
delivered to each doorstep at the end of July or early August. You can choose to add your address to your container using mailbox number stickers, if you would like, for
easier identification. These containers shall remain the property of the contractor and shall be leased to owner. The recycling container conveys with the property, if you move
you must leave it for the use of the next owner. If the Association chooses to terminate the contract with Trash Away, each owner will be responsible for returning the recycling bin at a set time organized by the Association. If you would like an additional recycling bin or lose your current can, another one may be purchased by individual homeowners
directly at the contractors determined price. You may request this on the website at www.trashaway.com or by calling 703-339-4560 (cost for 2020 is $15 each). If you do
not wish to have a recycling can, please respond to this email and let Management know, no later than July 12th.

Bulk trash: shall include typical household articles, such as small items of used furniture and personal effects and shall be collected at no additional charge with prior arrangements by calling Trash Away Directly at 703-339-4560, or via email at
[email protected], bulk services will only be provided on Thursdays and with prior arrangements. THIS MUST BE SCHEDULED BY THE HOMEOWNER. Examples included:
sofas, chairs, tables, television sets, lamps, mattresses and box springs, etc. There is no extra charge to the residents for this service if they call in the service.
Excluded Bulk Trash: - Items not included in Bulk Trash include White metal goods (i.e., refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, metal shelving, equipment with motors, etc.) are not considered bulk trash and must be removed by the owner at owners’ expense. Renovation or contractor debris, usually the responsibility of the renovation contractor,
such as used carpet, cabinets, bathroom fixtures, and construction debris (i.e., used tiles, drywall, wood materials, paint containers, concrete, metal frames or rods, glass windows or doors, etc.) are not considered bulk trash owner is responsible for removing such items. Hazardous waste (such as toxic substances, infectious waste, medical waste,
radioactive waste) is not included and must be removed by the owner at owners’ expense If Owner wants Contractor to remove any additional items, or any items of excluded bulk trash, special arrangements may be made, on a case-by-case basis, and billed to the Owner, you must schedule this with Trash Away directly. Fees related to these pickups will be charged to the resident. Appliances and construction will be
charged to owner directly, hazardous waste is not an option.

Yard waste: will be collected with trash services as defined by Fairfax County shall not be collected separately by contractor and will be collected with solid waste. Owner has applied for and has been approved by Fairfax County to participate in Alternative Yard Waste Recycling Program. Yard waste shall include leaves, grass and brush from regular household lawn and garden care. Leaves and grass should be placed curbside separately in bags or reusable containers (weighing no more than 50 pounds per bag). Brush (shrubs, pruning, twigs, and plants) should be placed in a separate container or in
bundles weighing no more than 50 pounds each. Bundled brush, such as tree limbs, must be cut to a length of less than 4 feet long and bundled with rope or twine. Contractor will
not collect more than 20 bags and/or bundles of yard waste per home per pick up. Yard waste excludes tree stumps, poisonous plants, dirt, rocks, stones, concrete, sand, insect
nests or hives, or wood or lumber from decks, fences, etc. In addition, limbs that are larger than 6 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length will not be collected.

NRP has sent out an email this evening notifying us that tomorrow will be the last regular recycling pickup under our current contractor, American Disposal services. Please put your 18 gallon recycling bin out for final collection by ADS. The new contractor Trash away, will issue a new bin when they begin services in our community. Our apologies for the late post.

An update on the May board meeting via the Windsor Park website: Thank you to the WP owners who attended last week's board meeting via Zoom. At the meeting, the board confirmed the closures of both the pool and tot lots for the summer season. The proposed special assessment that was canceled in April will be offset by reductions in costs for the pool including operations, maintenance, management, utilities, and passes; architectural covenants enforcement; and paperwork printing costs for packets and newsletters. The board also voted to change trash companies. You will be notified shortly about changes to trash contractors and policies.

Pics below are before and after pictures of just one location. There are about 3 or 4 locations that are notorious problem locations.

The before picture is already after the trash was collected! Pile was twice as high and it was totally mixed with all sorts of trash and bulk materials.

Don't know ADS even managed to separate. Any way. they did a phenomenal job all around.

Biggest problem is residents putting stuff out that is loose--not in cans, bags, or tied up in easy to handle bundles.

Today, ADS resumed picking up of bulk trash-- and there was a LOT of it--with today's collection. WP is now amazingly clean, except for some locations with loose trash or recycling. We must now wait for ADS to pick up the recycling on Thursday unless someone takes it back and holds for Thursday. The loosely scattered trash is our responsibility. We thank any volunteers who bag it and hold it for the next pickup. Please do your part to help keep WP clean.

Reminder: The monthly WPHOA board meeting for May will take place electronically tomorrow, Thursday 5/21, at 7 pm via Zoom. Residents are encouraged to attend. NRP sent an email to owners yesterday containing the meeting's agenda and the login link, which is accessible on the first page of the agenda pdf. If you should have received an email but did not, please contact the management company at [email protected].

NRP has sent an email notice to the community about actions taken by the board at April's monthly e-meeting. In summary, the request for special assessment for 2020 was terminated, and the board will engage in budget cuts instead, including suspending the quarterly newsletter. Due to the Covid-19 related closures and shelter-in-place order by the governor, the pool will be closed for the season, tot lots and basketball courts will remain closed, and architectural inspections will not be conducted, except in certain specific cases. E-meetings are accessible to residents, who are encouraged to dial in. We will post the link to the full notice as soon as it goes up on the community website.
