The kindergarteners at Ferdinand T. Day Elementary School had a great time conducting hands-on pumpkin observations. Does a pumpkin weight more than a kindergartner? Can we measure the circumference and height of a pumpkin with everyday objects? Will a pumpkin sink or float in water? What is inside a pumpkin? Students had the chance to answer all of these questions and more thanks to our amazing staff and parent volunteers.

September is Library Card Sign Up Month! Each year Alexandria Library works with our district to make sure students receive a special student public library card that allows them to check out books and access online resources. Families can apply for a regular library card for even more privileges by stopping by one of the many library branches in Alexandria.
