The SFPE Board issued an update to the position statement on the roles of engineers and engineering technicians when both are working on the fire protection of a project. The exciting piece for this document is the number of endorsing organizations that have signed onto this statement for fire protection including ABET, AFAA, American Fire Sprinkler Association, American Society of Certified Engineering Technicians, Fire Suppression Systems Association, National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), National Fire Sprinkler Association - NFSA, National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), and National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE). The revised version can be found here.

Hey guys, I have a code question. I am trying to find in NFPA72 or Florida Building Code where is says when lightning protection is needed. Can anyone help with a chapter?
Took my test on April 10, 2012 and you have still not completed my certification .
Your managers don’t have the brains to pour p**s out of a boot with directions
I signed up for a practice test and the site directed me to a ExamStudio site which required me to set up a password . But the password takes me to a Nicet page that looks like it wants to reset my Nicet password .
Your IT Dept is got to be some of the dumbest stooges I have ever seen. And you gonna certify me ?
An overdue congratulations goes out to our Fire Alarm and Security Installation Manager Dominic for receiving his National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Fire Alarm Systems Level IV certification! When we say we have experts on the Marco team, we mean it!
Why does no one answer the phone lines at NICET or return or respond to emails? Bad customer service!
Just had a quick question, hopefully. I’m in a discussion with a coworker and I don’t have my books by me. Does anyone know off hand where in the code it states that fire alarm shall be run in red 3/4” conduit?
Wilson & Company’s Adam Schart, PE, was at Northwest Kansas Technical College, giving a lecture on engineering ethics yesterday. He stated that “Engineering ethics boil down to honesty and integrity, but the most paramount in all ethics codes and cases is ensuring the health and safety of the public.” The engineering graduates were introduced to the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) code of ethics, hypothetical dilemmas, board reviewed cases, and personal experiences from Adam’s career.
