May is National Foster Care Month—a time to recognize the children in care and the community it takes to support them.

Right now, there are 469 children in foster care across the parishes served by Children’s Advocacy Network… with 26 of those in Grant Parish alone.

Behind every number is a child who deserves safety, stability, and someone in their corner. 💙

Mandy Bynog has been a CASA volunteer since March 2026. She currently advocates for a 9 year old little girl in our community. In her first month as an advocate, she has gone above and beyond and made several visits with her child. Her favorite thing about being a CASA is “ forming a bond with the kids and making sure they know that you’re always in their corner… letting them know without a doubt that you’ll be there.” To anyone thinking of becoming an advocate, Mandy says, “ Don’t’ second guess yourself. If you’re thinking about it- do it. You’ll never know until you try it.”

Thank you to Mrs. Bobo Dean and her granddaughter, Nora, who recently stopped by our Grant Parish office to deliver a donation on behalf of Colfax Methodist Church. We are extremely grateful for this thoughtful gift from our community partners! Donations like this help us to continue our mission to help heal and champion abused and neglected children in Central Louisiana.
