🚨 𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 🚨

What started as an innocent night at the ballfield has taken an unexpected turn…

While law enforcement was distracted by the action on the field, two members of the Fire Department allegedly identified an unattended patrol vehicle and made what investigators are calling a “𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.” 🚒➡️🚔

The suspects were last seen leaving the area in a vehicle that very clearly did not belong to them.

Some officers may find this situation strangely familiar. Investigators declined to elaborate, noting only that apparently 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. 👀

Fortunately, authorities know exactly where the suspects will be Monday night.

We’ve seen the roster, and apparently Alexandria Police decided the Alexandria Police softball team needed a pretty generous definition of “Alexandria Police.” 😂

𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳’𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀. Who knows who’s next… National Guard? FBI? Maybe they’ve got a call into the Twins? ⚾

When you get to build your team from a pool of hundreds of people, you’ve got plenty of options.

We’re just the Alexandria Fire Department. 🚒

One small department. One roster. And apparently… 𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 packed into one firehouse. 🔥

So bring the deputies. Bring the troopers. Bring whoever you need.

🚨 AFD ARSON INVESTIGATION UPDATE 🚨

Alright, APD… we’ll give you this one. You caught us smashing your eggs. 🥚🔨

Unfortunately for you, we caught you setting the fire. 🔥📹

After APD proudly announced they had done a firefighter’s job and extinguished a brush fire, AFD returned to the scene to find the fire had rekindled.

So, a few things became clear:

🔥 The fire wasn’t extinguished properly.
🕵️ The follow-up investigation may have been… lacking.
📹 And somehow, security footage shows one of Alexandria’s finest introducing an ignition source to the scene.

Thankfully, the professionals arrived, properly extinguished the fire AND investigated it.

Turns out firefighters can investigate crimes after all. 😉

The investigation also uncovered some troubling history about our suspect’s athletic career. We can only hope he scores more runs Monday night than he managed goals on the ice. 🏒⚾

There was a time when he wore the right uniform. A decorated firefighter. A hero. A man who saved lives.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻… 𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘆. 😂

Thankfully, there’s still time for redemption.

All jokes aside, this is what friendly rivalry and good-natured banter between Fire and Law Enforcement is all about. We work together when it matters — but 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, we’re settling things on the softball field.

Also correct. We prefer to outsource administrative work. We simply call our friends in law enforcement and let them ruin your afternoon. Teamwork makes the dream work. 🤝

We’re asking for the public’s help regarding two suspicious individuals recently spotted causing a disturbance near the ballfield.

The suspects were later located. Fortunately, they are considered harmless — we’ve seen them play softball. 🥎😂

Anyone with information is urged to come support the Fire Department Monday night as we handle this matter on the field. 🔥🚒🚔

No arrests are expected. Several errors are.

🚨 FIRE DEPARTMENT FACT CHECK 🚨

During a recent interview on Open Line with the Voice of Alexandria, an APD officer mentioned these charity softball games stopped because the police had won.

Status: ❌ False.

After reviewing the evidence (also known as the trophy sitting in our station), it appears the historical record tells a different story.

We were also wondering why there was such a big push for a brand-new trophy... but now it all makes sense. When you've only managed to win 1 out of the last 11 games, it's probably easier to start over than keep looking at the old one. 😉🏆

Don't worry, officers—we'll be happy to introduce the new trophy to its permanent home, too.

We're looking forward to another great game, raising money for a great cause, and spending the evening with our brothers and sisters in blue. See you on the field! 🚒⚾🚔
