MOAA Seeks 12-Month Grace Period for New TRICARE Select Enrollment Fee

“Military retirees have undeniably earned the TRICARE benefit via decades of service and sacrifice. The loss of health care coverage during a pandemic is an unreasonably harsh penalty for missing communications on an unprecedented enrollment fee.”

Those who don’t pay could lose coverage. More time is needed to spread the word.

Hello Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). I hope you are staying safe and healthy out there. My name is Daniel Chin, and I am a USAF veteran/graduate student in the SFSU Kinesiology Program. I am conducting research on how military identity has shaped veteran post-service health, and I am inviting transgender veterans to participate by taking an approximately 30-minute online survey. The data collected from this survey will be used for completion of my master’s thesis, and the findings applied to policy recommendations for veteran health programs and benefits. If you would like to volunteer, click this link to the survey: https://sfsu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4MwERRvA8db8YFT You participation, and any referrals of our study to veteran friends would be much appreciated! Please direct any questions or concerns to me at [email protected], or contact my faculty advisor, Dr. Susan Zieff, at [email protected]. Thank you for your service.
How would you like a chance to win a WARRANT OFFICER CUSTOM HARLEY DAVIDSON and help contribute up to $10,000 towards the Warrant Officer Scholarship Fund? Below is a post from fellow Warrant Officer Wayne Smith on one of the Warrant Officer Pages. Folks, we have 15 days to make this a great story for our friend Wayne, the lucky winner of a $20K bike, and the Warrant Officer Scholarship recipients. If your not into motorcycles but want to contribute, you can buy a ticket and if you win, donate it back to the association or at least share this far and wide. You do not have to be a Warrant Officer to win. *******************Wayne's Messages************** I am beyond words to have to post this but given my medical situation I won’t be able to enjoy this for long time. For sale: 2014 Harley Davidson StreetGlide Special. Military edition Sand Camo Denim paint. 12684 miles and lots of extras. Army Warrant Officer “Eagle Rising” on front fairing an primary covers. Light kit with multi options and remote. New handle bars and trunk. Would like to see it go to someone military (maybe a fellow Warrant Officer) who will understand how special this is. If someone else out there wants it to enjoy it that would be ok as well. Asking $17,500 or BRO. Many accessories to come with it. PM me if your interested. A few people have mentioned an auction for the bike with a portion of the proceeds going to the Warrant Officer scholarship fund. I love that idea. First i would like some feedback. It was mentioned that a $20 x 1000 ticket raffle would work but in the past my union has done a $100 x 300 ticket raffle. I think the latter would be best with (if all 300 tickets get sold) $10,000 going to the scholarship fund. Would fellow Warrants be good with this idea? So I went with the Raffle option because of the thought of a third of the proceeds (if all 300 tickets were sold). So far it has not gone as I had hoped. If anyone would like to participate there are still a lot of tickets left. My Venmo ID is @chiefsmith. The Raffle will end on the 1st of July at 12:00 and the drawing will be at 13:00. If at least 150 of the tickets aren’t sold the people who bought tickets will receive their money back. Good luck if you participate. ************POST AS OF 15JUN20******************* Ok so the Bike raffle is down to just 15 days. In order to at least have the raffle another 124 tickets need to sell. To make it a complete success 254 need to sell. If we don’t get close to the 150 mark by the end of June 30th then I will start to refund everyone’s money. Please spread the word to make this successful. I would really like to see this bike ridden and not just sitting in my shed for the next 5+ years while I continue my medical care.
