The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) has long helped encourage the hiring of veterans. Congress now has an opportunity to both reauthorize this important benefit and extend its advantages to military spouses, a population that continues to face unique employment challenges due to military life.
Adding military spouses to WOTC could improve family financial stability while supporting military readiness, recruitment, and retention.
