โ€” The Campbell County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has taken delivery of a new Polaris Ranger utility vehicle, purchased through funding provided by the Kentucky State Rescue Aid Grant program.
The new Polaris Ranger will significantly enhance the countyโ€™s emergency response and Land Search and Rescue (LandSAR) capabilities by improving access to remote, rugged, and hard-to-reach areas. The vehicle will be used for a variety of missions, including search and rescue operations, disaster response, flood and storm damage assessment, missing person searches, and support for special events and training exercises.
โ€œThis vehicle fills a critical capability gap for us,โ€ said William R. Turner, Director of the Campbell County Office of Emergency Management. โ€œThe Polaris Ranger allows our responders to quickly and safely reach areas that traditional emergency vehicles simply cannot access, especially during severe weather events or in remote terrain.โ€
The State Rescue Aid Grant program provides financial assistance to local rescue agencies across the Commonwealth to support the purchase of essential equipment, training, and resources needed to protect life and property. Campbell County OEM continues to leverage this program to strengthen local response capabilities while maximizing the responsible use of public funds.
The Polaris Ranger will be assigned to Campbell Countyโ€™s Land Search and Rescue program and will be available to support operations throughout the county and, when requested, to assist neighboring jurisdictions.
Campbell County OEM would like to thank the Kentucky Department of Emergency Management and the Kentucky Division of Rescue for their continued support of local rescue agencies and emergency management programs.
For more information about Campbell County OEM or the Land Search and Rescue program, please contact the Campbell County Office of Emergency Management.

โœ… All lanes on I-471 are now open to traffic.
โœ… Memorial Parkway bridge overpass has also reopened.

Following the overnight vehicle fire, KYTC District 6, first responders, city and county agencies, and regional partners worked diligently to reopen the highway in less than 24 hours. Campbell County thanks everyone involved for their quick response and hard work.

Please note these repairs are a temporary fix to safely reopen the roadway as quickly as possible. KYTC District 6 plans to return in the spring for full resurfacing in the impacted area. Additional work will also take place later to repair the barrier wall and replace a highway sign on the overpass.

Thank you to the public for your patience throughout the closures and repairs.
