Christian Relief Services A Gentle Voice for Good - We're providing a hand-up rather than a hand-out to those who need it most

Many cannot afford the most basic needs — food, water, medicine, housing. We're providing a hand-up rather than a hand-out to those who need it most worldwide.

On this day in 1865, General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas to read Order No. 3, which affirmed the end of slavery in the states of the former Confederacy. This momentous occasion has been celebrated as — a combination of “June” & “19th” — for over 150 years.

As we remember our past, let us also protect our future. Happy !

This weekend will be a fun and busy one for many of us as we kick off the summer with the three-day Memorial Day weekend.

But let us remember to pause and think about the meaning of Memorial Day, and reflect on and honor the memory of our loved ones, ancestors and relatives, friends and neighbors who gave their lives for our great country. God bless America!

The North American Indigenous Athletics Hall of Fame (NAIAHF) announced its second class of inductees on February 1, and we are pleased and proud to report that Olympic gold medalist Billy Mills, co-founder of Running Strong for American Indian Youth® is among them.

This year’s class features more than 75 new athletes, coaches and teams to receive the honor for their athletic achievements and contributions to their respective sports.

Jim Thorpe (Sac and Fox) and Billy (Oglala Lakota) may be two of the more recognizable names on the list, however Dan Ninham, who founded NAIAHF in 2022, noted that there is no singular inductee who is the “headliner” of the group.

“It’s hard to say when you have so many elite people whether or not some are headlining over the other,” Ninham said in Indian Country Today. “Billy Mills is big time as we know and everyone is big time that are inducted.

Running Strong for American Indian Youth works with Native communities to raise happy, healthy Native American youth. Founded by Billy Mills.

Safe Places, a program of Christian Relief Services, Inc. which is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, is committed to providing Fairfax County families who are homeless due to domestic violence with safe, long-term transitional housing in order to empower them to break the cycle of abuse. During their time in the program, we assist clients by providing case management and social services in addition to providing safe and affordable housing. We work with clients to ensure that they are able to live independently following their successful completion in the program.
As you can imagine, due to the population that we serve, holidays are extremely difficult as most families are working to make ends meet. The holiday season can be a particularly hard time for the mothers in our program as they want to be able to provide their children with a memorable holiday. At the same time, they worry about spending their entire budget. This year, we are asking our neighbors to consider the families in Safe Places.

Please visit our Amazon wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1R1LX4UDVPL8Q?ref_=wl_share or contact [email protected] to find out how you can support the children in Safe Places this holiday season.

Today marks the tragic assassination of President John F. Kennedy 59 years ago. As a young man, the founder of Christian Relief Services worked for the President and took his message of service to his country to heart.

"For one true measure of a nation is its success in fulfilling the promise of a better life for each of its members. Let this be the measure of our nation."

It is important to reflect upon and not lose sight of the meaning of Memorial Day, and honor the memory of our loved ones, ancestors and relatives, friends and neighbors who gave their lives for our wonderful country. The United States wouldn’t be the great country it is today, a shining light of democracy, were it not for the sacrifices of our Nation’s soldiers, our heroic predecessors who died defending us.

The Battle of the Greasy Grass, and also commonly referred to as Custer's Last Stand, was an armed engagement between combined forces of the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes and the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army. The battle, which resulted in the defeat of U.S. forces, was the most significant action of the Great Sioux War of 1876. It took place on June 25–26, 1876, along the Little Bighorn River, in present day Montana.

Today we reflect on the sacrifice of all who bravely gave their lives in service to our country, and highlight the contributions Native peoples have advanced in America's armed forces. According to the National Indian Council on Aging (NICOA), Native American veterans have the highest record of military service of any US population "and have served with distinction in every major conflict for over 200 years." Join us in remembering those thousands of Native Americans who paid the ultimate price serving their country and bringing pride and honor to their tribes.

Our Aim Foundation is pleased to get another transformative partnership.
A container of medical equipment and supplies donated to the people of Malawi by Christian Relief Services would leverage our health activities and enable us to support those who are most in need.

Christian Relief Services has been serving the global community regardless of location for the past 36 years. It is helping those in need in their own local communities and to enable people to help themselves.

We sincerely appreciate Christian Relief Services for the trust and contribution towards our health activities.

This is a beginning for a great collaboration toward improving the lives of thousands of Malawian villagers through hope & empowerment.

Fountain Place Apartments is a constant flow of people sleeping or having s*x in cars, druggies or homeless people.
The manager Marie Martinez and her husband at Fountain Place Apartments are improperly parking their vehicles again. They keep on taking up 3 parking stalls with 2 vehicles?? I find it very discomforting to be renting from a company that has ignorant and lazy employees. Why is it I have to obey the rules but they dont?? Feels like descrimination.
If the home you own at 4223 Alcott is empty can someone come and remove ALL trash and cut yard???
This is how the manager parks at Fountain Place Apartments in Peoria, Az

You can provide Hope, Dignity, and a Reason to Smile to a child less fortunate, that otherwise may not have the ability to get the necessary school supplies required. Won’t you give a ministry gift today and help us spread the love of Jesus to those in need?

Your gift of $25 today will provide two meals aday with school supplies, a haircut, a physical and more to 1 child, $50 can provide for 2 children, $100 for 4, and so on… but give what you can - everything and remember we are taking care of 100 kids
Yet again there is trash everywhere at your rental property on Alcott Street. Trash bags that have been ripped open most likely by animals spewing trash all over their driveway. The tenants there are either blind or Joe care that there’s trash all over their driveway. I do not want rats in my house it is your responsibility as the owner of the home to maintain this property they only even cut the grass about once every other month. So either fix it by the end of today or my next call will be to Fairfax county code violations this is unnecessary that I have to keep doing this
I would like to know why your CRS offices in Tegucigalpa have put a rope across the street and paint a crosswalk because the parking lot is in front of the offices, do they have permission from the local authorities? Thanks
Your rental property at 4223 Alcott. Disgraceful
