Hello Member Sections!
We are Phyllis "Dora" Rifkin, DMAL, and Traci Ison, MAL, and we serve on the RID Board of Directors.
We are reaching out to you to connect with you. We are thrilled to partner in our roles, operating as a team, representing you on the RID Board of Directors. We are committed to ensure that each member section's goals, intentions, and challenges are heard. We have been and will be reaching out individually to connect with the Member Section Chairs if active, (or other member section leadership if the member section is active but without a chairperson at this time). Be on the look out for our communication!
There have been big changes within RID recently including a completely new Board, and many new representatives, and other leadership throughout the organization. Since beginning our position on September 1, 2021, we have been learning a lot— reviewing & organizing content, receiving training in our RID Board service roles, and communicating with past Board leadership. We are clear we are not yet completely familiar with it all and we ask for your patience as we navigate our roles. We are committed to an environment of transparency.
We want you to know we are here for YOU. We welcome and encourage your communication. Feel free to reach out to us by email; Dora at [email protected] and/or Traci at [email protected].
We are committed to responding within 1-2 business days, but if you do not receive a response, we might have accidentally overlooked your email and request that you please do follow up. For more in-depth communication, we request you set up a conversation through a call or virtual face-to-face meeting with either or both of us so we can fully get your communication and commitment.
We acknowledge you, Member Section leaders, for your bold leadership. Thank you for making a difference with the Deaf community and interpreting industry.
